Happy Wednesday!

I love daffodils! In fact, I am selling daffodils on Saturday to raise money for the Cancer Society! GAD/GADD event for us :goodvibes
I swear we must have been in the last 50 people to register! It was soooo close.

I got my first sign of spring today - DD's allergies started up. She sneezes until the trees are in full leaf. We have about a month of misery for her and she will be good for another year.

I ordered some stuff for belly dance costuming BUT the gypsy skirts will be perfect for a pirate party! And the site had men's pirate shirts for only $20! I can't make it for that cheap! pirate:

Happy Hump Day folks! :wave2:

Crocuses are in full bloom and hyacinths are really pushing their big bulbs up. Nice and sunny today so hopefully my daffs will be out soon too! :goodvibes

In May, I'm going to move some plants around - quite a few have multiplied into clumps and blocking each other (a la Bex :rolleyes1) I'm going to do a simple garden this year - we'll see how that goes. :rotfl:

cheers,
:flower3:

My garden does itself :lmao: I think the previous owner had it looking quite nice but there were a number of years Gav was working away from home and it got all over grown - huge conifers and nettles all over. I'm slowly clearing bits but I need to plant more stuff. It's just one of those things. Plus the garden is really long (front and back) and a steep slope out back - it just puts me off before I even start! Oh and the frost we had yesterday ruined the crocuses :sad1: they are sad little blobs of colour :sad2: Got some tulips starting to poke through - I love this time of year :flower1: :flower1:

I am looking out my library office window and there is horizonal snow flying through the sky!!! :scared1:

Enough that I am going to clear it off my car before I drive home. :scared1:

Hope you got home ok?

Happy Thursday everyone  Nearly the weekend :cool1:

I tried to order a new camera yesterday through crazycameras.co.uk but when I got home they had tried to call me - I thought it was a bit wierd and when I tried to return the call it kept going to a voicemail. So I googled for problems with the company and found a massive thread with loads of complaints :scared1:
People who had paid using a debit card that weren't getting refunds and people who never received their goods - some had got their stuff but it was only the cheaper items not the expensive ones - all sorts of problems. I got worried and cancelled the order and also told my credit card company I thought they were dodgy and not to process the payment if they hadn't already. It was really annoying as I just want to get the camera and play with it  but now I'll have to wait and see if they cancel my credit card (which they did a couple of weeks ago as apparently my number was within a list of numbers that had been compromised :headache:).
I'm so glad I didn't pay by debit card (I never would for that amount) but it means I can't order it from somewhere else incase they cancel my card. And this company was recommended by someone I trust - I'm guessing he bought a smaller item :sad2:

Glad you were able to cancel the order. I really hope the credit card works out. My debit card was comprimised a couple of months ago. The bank froze the card right away. I had checked my balance and headed out shopping by coincidence. Instead of being home to get the call from the bank, I was standing in a fabric store trying to purchase about $150 worth of material. I was able to use my credit card, and once I got home, discovered what was going on.

I guess you are going to have to be patient for now. What kind of camera are you looking at?

Oh no! It's such a pain when they have to cancel the card - my bank didn't bother telling me until I tried to use it, maybe a conincidence but I don't think so as I hadn't used it for weeks :sad2:

I have heard from my bank, they cannot cancel the transaction and the company can try and charge my card any time between now and 6 years time :confused3 I have cancelled the order so hopefully they won't charge me. I am looking at the Sony HX1 - it loads of cool features, panoramic setting, HD video, indoor/twilight setting where it doesn't use a flash.
I just want it now so I can practice and know what it does before we go away. I think I may just try ordering it from elsewhere (a site I trust) and then if the other place tries to charge me then claim it back. I will always google the company from now on if I've never heard of them (even if recommended) I just hope I cancelled it in time :sad2:

I was just looking at the page I linked above and Kathy should see this bit

A wide angle lens lets you pack more into the picture without having to stand further back from the subject

Thankfully I had checked my balance before leaving the house. I was pretty sure money wasn't missing, but had DH check again from work while I was still shopping as I wasn't close to home. They were very good about it. I had my new chip card and all passwords changed within about an hour of speaking with the bank. I had narrowed it down to 2 stores I had been in. Then on the news the next day, I got the full story. Someone had altered a PIN pad at one of the stores. When they returned, they just stole the entire PIN pad and ran out.

I like the camera. I am not in the market officially, but always looking. I tend to stick to Canon only as I am used to thier settings.

Ok...long night almost done time to pack up and get ready to go home!

Happy Thursday everyone...(it is Thursday right?)

:sad2: Hope you made it home fine! :upsidedow

Bex, wow great that you caught it in time. Good thing is your credit card company should back you up if it gets charged through. :thumbsup2

DH has tomorrow off so I'm taking it too but am dogsitting for friends so not much going on. It's Maple Syrup Harvest Weekend so I'll see if DH feels like going on a daytrip to get to one of the pancake breakfasts. :rotfl:

Make it a fab weekend all! :goodvibes

cheers,
:flower3:

It is definitely spring!

The snow blowing through yesterday afternoon is long gone without any problem.

This morning is bright blue sky, a bit warmer. Then tomorrow it will be cold again.

Thanks, I'm going to wait a week or so (torture - I'm very impatient to get the camera) and then order from somewhere else, I'll give them a bit of time in case for some stupid reason they try to still send it :headache:

Best advice ever!

I thought all Brits were obsessed with their gardens. I have a friend who moved across the pond and every time I talk to him I hear all about the garden. I figured it was something they put in the water since he never even had a house plant before moving.

Hope you get your new camera soon.

Umm, yeah I don't really have green fingers - I just try and stop it getting like a jungle  If I had more time maybe I'd do a bit more. I'd love to grow our own veg - I may start with a few pots on our windowsil :goodvibes

Thanks, they have confirmed it's been cancelled but the e-mail said refunds take 5-7 days :headache: Just hope I don't have to chase them.

Happy Thursday everyone!!!

Tought teenage day at our house. Why oh why do teenage girls have to be so mean and stupid? Madi had someone tell her today to put her hair in a ponytail because her hair looks bad :( She just got a new haircut, and she has curly hair that is hard to control. We got it cut in a way that makes it look cute when it's curly, and that little brat made her feel like a dork. Why oh why can she not understand that that girl has no idea what she is talking about? I HATE this age. I should have had boys.
