We're paying ours off next Friday after our day at WDW & dinner at 'Ohana. That way, we're ready to book our Palo brunch when our booking window opens at midnight on Aug 25th

OMG is that when the GOLD window opens (based on your thing under your name)??? I had no idea it was so soon - we are going to have to figure out what we want to do!

I'm the opposite of you Nancy, I am doing what I can to lengthen the pay off time, so I DON'T get accrual for the interest on my credit card. We are getting points as I pay from the credit card, but I am doing what I can to pay for the cruise and airfare through cash earned outside our regular budget.

So far, I've paid for aifare via credit card and frequent flyer points and all but $750 of our cruise fare through focus groups, mystery shops, and surveys. I've got another $100 or so in mystery shops to do this week, so we'll get that bill down to $650. But with the clock running down, I am afraid I will not get it all done. At least mentally I will have till December to work at it - then I can pay off the credit card!

Vacation has become a game for us to earn it and not ding the budget - we've been pretty good at it and keep finding unique ways of earning extra cash to pay these things down.

I normally try to hang onto my money as long as possible, and I originally intended to pay for the cruise after my Disney Visa billing cycle closes in September. However, I need airline miles ASAP for another trip, so I charged the cruise balance to my new credit card before its billing cycle closes this month!

That's great that you've earned so much through surveys, mystery shopping, etc.! The only rewards program I do is My Points, but I usually don't redeem the points for use on a vacation.

Vacation is built into our budget. Monthly payments towards whatever we're doing that year. Pay off CC each month.
If I end up teaching an extra class, that's free money. It gets spent doing the extras.

I use mypoints and cash out walgreens gc and trade them for disney ones at the store.... I have a couple hundred saved to pay for our hotel ressie and 1 day wdw tix already, it helps!

I am still lamenting that we are not booking a cruise on the Dream in Sept for FL resident rates......

I am in Survey Savvy & American Consumer Opinion, but I don't accrue that much money...The ones my DH does get him Amazon.com gift cards, which come in handy (just got a new waterproof digital camera with them!!). I wish I was a member of something that accrued more!!

Oh and what about our MELLOW MUSHROOM?!?!?! I know there is one in Tampa (by Citrus Park)... but ours is better (altho the Tampa one does have a drink called Tiff's Love Potion 420... which I had on 4/20!)

Since not all rewards of the same value require the same number of My Points - I look for the best bang for the buck. My last redemption was for a $50 L.L. Bean gift card @ 6,350 points. I used that towards a new fleece jacket and raincoat for my Europe trip this summer.

As a Silver CC member, Sept. 9 is my day to book online. There are a few excursions I'd like to book, although I'm sure they won't sell out that day if I'm not online at midnight! I'll have to talk to my roommate, Vicki, about Palo. In my experience in the past, Palo was unavailable when it was my turn to book - even at 90 days out. However, I was able to book Palo dinner a few weeks before our Dream cruise last year. I am not interested in spending $50/$75 for Remy brunch/dinner.

Unless things have changed, Remy brunch can only be booked once you board & it's only offered on the last sea day.

I'd like to do this, but DH & I are going to do it in March for my b-day Just going to stick to Palo brunch (on Costa Maya day) this cruise.
