We've driven it before and while it's not that bad, it's a very loooooooong drive! We will probably drive straight through...just have to figure out when to leave. The current plan is to arrive sometime on Friday, do WWOHP on Saturday, the Boardwalk meet on Saturday night...then the cruise...and then 2 nights at the Swan/Dolphin post cruise. That's the current plan anyway...it is subject to change at any given time!

Awesome! The group of peeps attending the cruise and DATW is growing!! Now we have to get Don and Tamra to go! Congrats Brandie! See you in December. :thumbsup2

My one great road trip (and one of two times I have been out of the Southeast) was from Alabama to Indianapolis for a Star Wars convention (I imagine some of you are even old enough to remember when Star Wars first came out....no, not 1999, 1977 ;)). Boy I thought Alabama interstate was bad till I got to Kentucky. Hopefully they have fixed it since then, but I was afraid the tires would just fall off if we hit the wrong hole.

Kentucky's roads are a breeze compared to Michigan's. The potholes love to eat tires and axle rods for breakfast.

I guess we are officially driving to Orlando for PCC 2.0! That was my dilemma the other day...While it is way more convenient to fly, we would actually save quite a bit by driving down instead. So glad that Matthew agreed with me! :thumbsup2

Baby steps...baby steps...:woohoo:

:teeth::rolleyes1

My newest friend....

Nice!!!! I will not buy, I will not buy, I will not buy... I must keep saying this..

We always drive to WDW, we leave at 5:00 in the morning and are at the hotel by 5:00 pm. I actually don't mind the drive but of course I have my kindle and a laptop with air card so that passes lots of time..

Hmm, with the new ipad and a trip to Chicago do you suppose that fits in the category of

A. icing on the cake no one will notice and James like to make me happy

B. hmm, maybe wait a few months.

I vote for A. :thumbsup2

helloooo folks, i put my deposit down last week! about 90% sure i'll be able to make it, just gotta clear the vacation time with my new job. i can't wait!

i just turned the ripe old age of 24 this past Monday ;) As it stands now, i'll likely be going solo, so i'll definitely be looking to hang out with folks of all ages!

happy Friday!

Welcome :cool1: I hope you get the vacation off work :goodvibes

I did use to live in the USA till 1999. (Portland, Maine) So I haven't heard about the hurricane fiasco. Do tell

RE the hurricane - this explains it quite well - scroll down to Criticism of the Met Office for the bit about Michael Fish.

Here is the actual report

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqs1YXfdtGE (it seemed very quiet on our PC)

Hope everyone has had a good day - I attacked the garden, it's grown so much in two weeks. Gonna get some plants tomorrow :thumbsup2

Have a good Sunday :goodvibes

I switched us to OKW post-cruise, then called back later to try to AKV and couldn't get it. For the record, there are no value 1 bedrooms at AKV pre or post cruise. :sad1: But I'll keep trying. Never know what may open up later on.

Hi everyone from 30,000 feet somewhere over Tennessee/Southern Ky on my way home from WDW.

I booked my post cruise stay at Kidani this morning.
