"Pod" question

Very cool angle! I was thinking that I might try to do some fireworks photos from Tomorrowland next trip - the closest we got last time was riding TTA while Wishes was going on. Pretty cool but you can't expect to get a decent fireworks photo from a moving TTA car. :)

thanks!

i wish that tree wasn't in the way. it would have been a better shot. i'll try again in july, maybe with some better resuts.

So I guess we're all in kind of agreement, huh? Gorillapod....bad. Other.....good. So what "other" do you recommend, as far as tripods go? I'd REALLY love to keep it under $100. :woohoo:  :woohoo:
no i don't think it's bad espc. for a smaller camera --just think you need to be aware of the limitations. if i were just getting it for disney i might consider it more seriously than the fact i wanted to get support for anywhere i went, disney has more fences etc than some places i go

The smaller Gorillas come with heads afaik but the largest one only has a threaded stud on top.
From what I've seen, the regular and SLR don't really have a head per se, but rather what's like a very short "gorilla leg" that acts more or less like a ball head. There's not a screw there, but a little slot where a small piece that does have the tripod screw attached slides in to, sort of a poor man's quick release.

Whereas the SLR Zoom has a big flat tripod screw like you'd find on the top of a full-size monopod or tripod.
