PoC on crowd level 10 day

I'm helping my sister book her FPs and Pirates is a big must do for her family, it is the absolute favorite of her oldest. Ordinarily I wouldn't bother with a FP for this ride but they are going on a predicted level 9/10 day. Will it be difficult to get on Pirates without a FP when it is that busy?

Probably, unless you do it when the park first opens or are trying to outlast everyone if Magic Kingdom is open late - but, the late part doesn't even hold up on a level 10 day

The other thing - what is threshold of wait times in standby lines? If it's an hour - you won't need a FP if they plan on getting it done early in the morning. If it's 30 minutes on standby - the FP becomes more critical

pirates is one of the rides I use to gauge how crowded MK really is. My advice, get fastpasses for what is important.

Couldn't tell you a "crowd level" 3 from a 10, I don't follow those calendars and think they're silly. But generally speaking, PoC is one of the more unpredictable rides for lines, IMO. Even on a holiday weekend, I've seen it have a sub 15 minute wait. And on a regular summer day, I've seen it spike to 60 minutes (perhaps the ride had gone down). You "may" be OK without a FP+, but if it's an absolute favorite then without a doubt get a FP+ just to be safe. I'd rather have it and not need it than not have it and be standing in a 60 minute line...or miss out all together...while FP+ zoom on by.

Depends on the time of day. Any time past 10am and yes it will probably be a long wait on a busy day like that. I'd get the FP since it's a favorite.

Without a FP, expect 90 minute standby lines on a 9/10 day. You might get lucky, but you should plan for 90 minutes to avoid disappointment.

The line for this one can get out of hand on and off throughout the day even with a lower crowd level. But IME even on a level 9 day I was able to add this as an additional FP after our initial 3 were used.
