POC Closed from May through Sept.

Has anyone else heard about this possible closure?

"Pirates of the Caribbean – is expected to close from May through mid-September for the addition of characters from the movie that was inspired by the ride."

I've heard that too on the Dis. I'm not sure, but I'll check disneyworld.com and see if they say anything.

Update: Just checked www.disneyworld.com for any ride closings for May & June and it says: There are no scheduled operational updates currently being performed at this park.

So either they haven't updated thier site, or it's not official yet.

I love POC, and so does my whole family. We will be really bummed if it's closed in May.

Oh no, we are going in June and my boys will be bummed if it is closed! I hope they don't re-furbish til after the summer.

That rumor just seems suspect. A 4 month closure to add a few characters? They only close the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland for a month for a complete makeover for the Christmas holidays. It's also odd that they'd schedule this May-Sept. Aren't most refurbs done during the slow season? It's hard to believe they'd have a signature attraction like POC offline the whole summer.

..And why would they want to close it during the release of Pirates 2? It comes out in July! It would seem they would want the ride open for that!!
