Had a call from a fellow pool board member about a the issue we have been dealing with all day and as a result I am now in charge of a band committee. How do I get myself into these things?

Two weeks from tomorrow. Don't know where we'll stay, but since it's a budget trip, will probably be one of the value hotels. I made the plane reservations, though, so we are going for sure! Jake will be so excited!

What are your dates? We're going to be there but I think we'll just miss you, although we haven't nailed down our dates.

Jake knows since before deciding to go I wanted to talk with him.Jake had talked about wanting to go down there in the winter, so I wanted to find out his reasons why. Turns out, it was because he figured going this winter would be sooner than next summer, but he jumped at the chance to go this summer. We'd planned to go to Busch Gardens/Water Country, with perhaps a 1 night stay at Great Wolf Lodge. By the time I added all that up, I figured it wasn't much more to go to WDW. I *think* have have park passes for all the days, but will have to figure that out for sure when I'm there. If need be, I will have to buy a pass for one of us.

We'll be down there Aug 15-22, staying at All Star Sports. He is way excited! He has been begging me to go for months and months. It's his happy place, also, and I figured he deserved a getaway if I could at all swing it. He will have just gotten back from California with his brother, dad, his wife. While there they are not going to DL, but Jake did tell me that he might go to Knott's Berry Farm with his brother. He told me his dad really has no interest going to any theme/amusement parks. Kind of sad, but Jake and Zachary would have a great time at Knott's. Actually better than going with his dad and stepmom. They are, to put it very mildly, low energy. Well, I secretly use the word "slugs", but I guess that's not too nice.

I'm feeling a little guilty for booking the trip, but I will get over that guilt quickly.

No Guilt! Sounds like fun. He is lucky to have a big brother to do things with him if his Dad isn't in to the things he wants to do.

We actually have a free day on Friday and another one next week and I am trying to get my girls to come up with something fun they want to do. They aren't coming up with anything so far. DD16 starts band camp the 13th and DD12 is going to Grandma's that week and Swim Team ends on Sunday so I swear we don't get much down time in the summer to just do something fun together. I want to try to squeeze in a trip to Baltimore but not sure we will have time. We want to go to the aquarium and Medieval Times and would probably need to figure out one or 2 more things. But not sure if we will even be able to find a few days before school starts. May have to plan it for Spring Break in April instead.

Tig- sounds like fun and no, you shouldn't feel guilty one bit. The two of you will have such a great time!

Snappy- couldn't tell ya, don't care, water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned. And why is it so damn hard to find the smilies. They keep moving all around.

So 6 days until my husband comes home and what happens? I take a nasty fall at Wally World yesterday. Landed hard on my knee and man does it hurt. Woke up this morning to a whole lot more aches and pains. Of course it's my right knee so driving sucks. I have to leave shortly to drive 45 minutes each way for an ultrasound of my neck (not fall related). Gonna get home from that and take a vicodin I think. Now I just need someone to come over and clean my house.

Yeah, the guilt will pass soon. I've been trying to figure out what's changed down there in the last 2 1/2 years.

4s, I used to clean faster and better after taking vicodin. Damn I miss that stuff sometimes!!!

Scrappy, how about catching an O's game if you go to Baltimore? There's also a good, small art museum there (I think it's free), but I don't remember the name of it.

We aren't into baseball but I will look into the art museum. One kid is really into art (sculpture mostly) and the other into history so I was going to try to find something for each of them.

Scrappy, the museum that Ben and I saw the outdoor sculptures is the Baltimore Museum of Art. http://www.artbma.org/ I went to The Walters Art Museum with a group and also enjoyed that. I don't remember it having sculptures, however. http://thewalters.org/
