Well, I was frustrated with my dinner tonight. We went to a movie and I was really good and only had 3 smal handfulls of popcorn. The rest of the family shared 2 supersize tubs of popcorn between the 3 of them! So after the movie I as starving and they weren't!
But we went to Uno's for dinner. The kids like their make your own pizzas and I figured DH could eat a few pieces of pizza and take the rest of his home. I couldn't decide between a flatbread pizza or Lettuce Wraps. I decided to go for the no-carb and high veggie option of the Lettuce Wraps. Wow, did I decide wrong
The menu said:
CHICKEN LETTUCE WRAPS
Tender cups of Boston lettuce that you fill with teriyaki chicken that's sprinkled with sesame seeds, cucumbers, red peppers, carrots and vermicelli. Served with teriyaki and Mandarin sauces.
I asked for it without the sesame seeds and the peppers cause I dont' like either.
It came covered in OIL! The lettuce--NOT BOSTON BIBB, but plain green leaf, was filled with oil. I had to pour it out into a bowl and then clean it off with a napkin. The cucumbers had also been marinated in an oil dressing of some sort. Not sure what "sauces" I got. One was a peanut style sauce, and the other was probably supposed to be the teriyaki sauce but it had 1/2 inch of oil on top of it (NO LIE) and it was in one of those little side sauce cups. And it tasted like balsamic vinagrette, so I am not sure it was teriyaki, I just set it aside.
I wasn't planning to eat the pasta anyway, which was good, cause it was swimming in oil and cold. DD liked it , but she will eat noodles of any form!
The waiter was really nice about it and offered to make me a salad that I could just put the chicken on with whatever dressing I wanted but by that time I had cleaned most of the oil off of everything so I just ate the chicken, lettuce, carrots and peanut sauce.
