Quick update about my DD - she spoke to her managers (one male, one female), and showed them a written copy of exactly what the boy said. They were appalled, and will be taking some sort of action, we don't know exactly what. The boy was not at work today, but the story has now spread through the whole staff, and Molly's actually glad about that. All the big burly guys who work there are on her side and will back her up, and she wants the girls to know about it too so they can be on their guard. Apparently one of the guys saw what she wrote down to show the manager, so they all know exactly what he said.
Her police dispatcher boyfriend is working on getting his cop friends to run a background check. That is, as soon as Molly can remember to find out how to spell his long, complicated last name.
I tried again to get her to tell me what he said, but she says she doesn't want to have to worry about me having it running through my head, and she won't tell me. Whatever it was, she says it was something that no one should ever say out loud to another person.
Molly's a tough girl, and she's not backing down on this. She plans to get up in his grill when and if she sees him at work again (she feels safe to do so while she's there, surrounded by many people) and tell him off and let him know he better never talk to her like that again.
Thanks for the kind words, everybody, and hopefully T&B is right, and the boy was just shooting off his stupid mouth and nothing will come of it. I'll keep you posted. I'm going to meet Molly at Target in a few minutes to shop for her dorm room, which should be a happy diversion.
