A passerby asked if my DH was at the bar and left me with the kids. :rotfl:

Oh, man.

I chaperoned Chris's class to a "Please Touch" science museum last fall, and that was bad enough! I cannot imagine having to corral that many four and five year olds.

He has been having stomach/digestive problems for about the last 6 months. He is on acid reflux meds (which are helping somewhat), but he still has problems, like throwing up in the Macy's bridal department unexpectedly.

My little boy has the exact same problems. How did the scope go? We just got done doing that exact same thing in December.

Yeah, I may not be around for a while... :woohoo:

Kim-
Where has DH been? Sorry, it seems like we always cross paths, but miss each other- not much time for chat.

Nothing that showed up visually, which is good, but they did biopsies of some things that showed up as "splotches" in the pictures (according to his doctor "these could be nothing or these could be something" :confused3 ), and we won't have those results till at least Tuesday.

I just want a diagnosis so they can treat him. :guilty:

I had barfer boys. Jake still throws up easily, which is why we keep the barf bucket handy in the van. He doesn't give us much notice. It is improving, thankfully. At least some, if not all of my babies had reflux when they were little, even though only Zach was formally diagnosed (he had asthma, so we thought the reflux was making the asthma worse, so we had the reflux diagnosed). Not fun!

OK, I think I'm really off to bed now.

Hi Kate!

Every year dh and ds take a boy's trip back to PA where we're from. They see all the relatives, go to NYC for a bit and go down the Jersey shore for a week. They're taking some extra time this year, so that Chris can go to a basketball camp that's run by an old high school friend of mine--so in total they'll have been gone 3.5 weeks. I liked the privacy at first, but I am missing them to death right now. Just two more days, though!

I wish I could talk to you more, too, Kate. I'm really glad you joined our thread! :) :) :)

I know how hard it is. Breckin (my youngest DS) has acid reflux. It was awful. He was such a miserable little baby, it just seemed like he was so uncomfortable in his own skin. He would throw up 8-9 times a day, huge amounts. We found out in December that the only thing to fix him would be a surgery that has alot of very serious complications. So we have learned all kinds of tricks and ways to combact the reflux without actually doing the surgery. He is much better now, sadly he will never outgrow the reflux but we are helping him to manage it better. Hopefully with a little time there will be a few more options to consider that will help him. What kind of meds is Aiden on?

What a cool thing for a Dad and Son to do together. That really is the stuff that memories are made out of.

Chris had reflux, too, but it was due to his prematurity (two months early), and always threw up at the drop of a hat anywhere--just like in a Macy's bridal salon. ;) He did outgrow it and was off meds by five or six. Hopefully, they find nothing serious or at least something easily diagnoseable and treatable. More than anything, it is just so awful to not have an answer.

They do have a great time, and he's the only grandchild on both sides, so he gets loved to death up there and spoiled rotten. But that's OK--that's what the grandparents are there for. :) I just usually have to undo a little bit of Entitlement Mentality that Chris tends to come home with.
