Was the weather that bad or do you lose power easily? We had our power flicker and thought we were going to lose it Friday when we were making dinner. Our weather wasn't too bad, though.
Tricia, this time I expect to be fed. I don't have milk, so can't even have cereal.![]()
Shugardrawers said:It really was that bad. I'm amazed it wasn't actually hurricane strength. The whole house was creaking and shaking and we had some interior leaks. The rain and wind were driving so hard late friday morning that poor Petey couldn't keep his footing outside to go pee. I took him upstairs, put him in the tub and kept telling him to go potty. He looked at me like I was NUTS! He finally had to go bad enough that he did. Our section of town is a real mess. Stoplights are out and only about 1/2 of us have our power back right now. Most should be back on by tonight.
Out of sheer boredom we went looking for places that didn't lose power. We had dinner friday night at Ruby Tuesday and went to a movie. Yesterday we went to Barnes and Noble and had snacks and drinks and found big comfy chairs with outlets nearby and charged our cell phones and read for a couple of hours. Then we came back here, grilled steaks that were thawing in the freezer and made salad out of the produce that was about to wilt. We played Scrabble in bed by candlelight and then woke up when the power came back on at 7:30. All the lights and both tv's suddenly came on and scared the crap out of us![]()

Last night around 10 pm my dsil had to run to Wawa (convenience store). Andrew (my dgs, who will be 3 on the 24th) was still awake and wanted to with him so dsil let him go, because let's face it, Andrew gets pretty much what Andrew wants. Anyway, dd walks into the kitchen after they got back and Andrew is sitting at the kitchen table eating an Entennman's chocolate crumb topped donut (with a spoon). DD says to dsil "You let him get donuts at 10 o'clock at night?!" To which Andrew replies, as he's waving his spoon in the air, "And I got a snoopy too!" (Slurpy.)
Thirty minutes later he's hopping around the house like a cricket on speed and dsil is asking when dd's going to put him to bed. Duh.
