Since I already have the suitcases out I'm going to go ahead and start packing for WDW. Not tonight, though.

Myst, I hope tomorrow goes well for Den. Caro, what's your mom having done?

This is from the email that Linda sent out to family and friends.

Shirley's worst symptom now is fluid in her chest (called pleural effusion), which causes shortness of breath and cough. She is scheduled on Tuesday for a surgery called a pleurodesis. This involves putting a tube in her chest, and inserting a talc, that will hopefully scar the (pleura)chest tissue, which would close the space where fluid is collecting in between her lungs and chest wall.
She will be in Kaiser hospital for 2-5 days after the procedure. While in the hospital, she will also have some more tests done to see if the cancer has spread anywhere else in her body. She is scheduled for whole body bone scan, a MRI of her brain, and a PET scan.

Good heavens, why pack so early! You know when I'll be packing, don't you!

After I drop the kids off at school I have to go register my car where they will tell me her US registration has expired and yell at me. It will be awhile until I get to drive her I guess. Need tags.

Is anyone else not packing until the day before they leave? I am always amazed that everyone has a wardrobe that big! And I'm ME!

I've gotten to where I pack right before a trip, but this time I'm going to try and pack what I can early since I'll be busy right before leaving trying to get the house in order a bit.

Besides Myster, we need to keep my Mom in our thoughts tomorrow too please. She is having the chest tube inserted and talc stuff put in tomorrow. I sure hope this helps her breathe easier.

I did catch up and find out what she's going in for.

I was just thinking about this today! So sad that someone would do something that horrendous.

I'm just feeling a little blue...and need a diversion.

She prescribed me 5 of them.

That's not very many since you're going to want to try them out before the trip.

I get off at 2:00pm the day I leave and my plane leaves at 11:45pm. I have plenty of time to pack AND go trick or treating! I have to pack for Florida weather and California weather, hopefully it won't be too different!

hiya tig I got off of here earlier planning on going to bed. We had tornado warnings all around us so I stayed up to watch the weather and now Im not so sleepy anymore.

Hey there teo! Fun weather, huh?

I had fun on the trip kinda sorta. It's great for my kids to see their cousins (really second cousins) since they don't have relatives near here at all. They really enjoyed themselves, which is great. Also, all 4 of my kids went and it's been a long time since that has happened. I did realize why I'm not too fond of traveling with my DD...she gets awfully whiny for someone her age. Still, it was good to be together. I got to see one of Ron's aunts, who I've always liked. Also her daughter who is the only family member who knows about my depression (none of my relatives know). However, playing the happy family isn't much fun since my heart is not with him. Not to mention the fact that I don't play it too well. Traveling really stresses him out, which is no fun. He wants us to all go to Southern CA this winter to see his parents since his dad's health isn't too good. I have really mixed feelings about that. It would be good for us to all see his parents, however another trip with him? It would likely be OUR last family trip.

Geez, that was kind of a long answer to a simple question.

Well I guess Im gonna fold those two loads of towels I tossed on my bed while ago, and then try to get to bed. I was up till 3:30 this morning and then the kids had to wake me to take them to school. Im so thankful they are the type to get themselves up and dressed. I did get up in time to toss them some breakfast before we left.

Thanks teo! I also got to see my niece and her brood of children, which was wonderful. We were there for a few hours, which was plenty of time.
