Lara, I'm sorry to hear about your mom. If I may, head over to the thread of the breast cancer survivors here on the CB. I went there when I was going through my troubles to pick their brains some and they were wonderful! They are a fabulous and very caring and knowledgable group there. So so welcoming too. Go there and talk with them and they can tell you anything you need to know and ease your mind some. They know info like the back of their hands! I'll keep you and your mom in my prayers!

Hey all!

Lara, so sorry about your mom. I will keep you all in my prayers. My grandmother was just diagnosed with breast cancer this past January, just shy of her 81st birthday. She had a mastectomy in April and is doing well.

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I had Harry Potter to keep me company, and with DH leaving in 10 days I've been wanting to spend as much time with him as possible. I can't believe he's going overseas in 10 days! Hopefully the next year will fly as fast as this past year. I'm just sad that he's going to be missing our first wedding anniversary.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hi and good night.

Just wanted to pop in and tell my ladies to have a good night! I'm heading out with one of my main gays and some of his friends that I know, for some fun!

Okay here is my adventure in picking up DN.

Leave work at 7:30 and head to the store to pick up something for work. No sooner get there than I get a call from sis, come get DN now, DH is taking older sister to swim team. I finish there and head down the road, get to the beltway, sis calls she is no where near the beltway on her end, we'll meet a little further around the beltway for me.

I know sooner get there than sis calls and says lets meet just a little further down the road, traffic is backed up on her end. I get back on the beltway, then procede to totally miss the exit we agreed upon. I go down this LONG road, the only thing on said road is the Naval Warfare some such thing. I am getting the weirded out feeling that my license has been checked and they are doing a background check on me. I go to call sis, no signal.

I head back to the beltway yet again, the phone rings. and sis tells me get back on the road and go back one exit. I do as she intructs and finally hook up with her and pick up DN Princess Aurora. She is dressed in her Princess Aurora costume.

By this time, I have to pee like the proverbial race horse and since the only place I know of is to go all the way back to the road to home, I will go away from the beltway and hopefully find something close. I drive and drive and drive and then drive over the beltway then drive and drive some more. I finally find a familiar road, get to the beltway and guess where I stop. The McDonalds that is on the road to home.

As DN and I were driving down the road she is telling me that her favorite ride at WDW is Soarin' then asks me what mine is. I tell her it is Soarin' too and she says that is why she loves me so much.

So, got some bad news. My mother's biopsy results came back, it was malignant (breast cancer). I'm at work so I'm trying to keep it together. They'll operate in the next few weeks and then to either radiation therapy or chemo.

Anyway, they got it really early....so I'm trying to concentrate on that. Sorry to be a downer.

So many hugs to you and your family. My aunt is a survivor. They have made incredible advances in the last few years. She can and will beat it.
