we sat Rebecca down and told her, she had all of these cant we do this and cant we do that, she looked at me with that look of hope in her eyes. I looked her in the eyes and said "halfpint, Shadow is leaving us very soon, don't know if it will be days or maybe a few weeks, but he deserves to not suffer, we have to agree as a family that we are all on the same page here and now"
Thats when she cried a little, she nodded and asked if she could go get ready for my Mom to come get her, she went into her room and started to cry. M went to go in and I stopped him, told him she is my mini me and she needs this time.
Once Mom arrived we all sat around the dining room table and Mom offered to have him cremated, Rebecca agreed.
They told me to go to the meet, they understand. Hes on the pain meds now, but we all agree this is no life for him. I think the disturbance in the schedule is kinda good for all of us, come Thurs we will decide how soon.
We also discussed seeing if Doc can come here to do it, thanks Leah for that one, we all agreed that if he will thats the route we will go.
M is a mess, please understand that Shadow is the best dog ever! Between my Mom and Bobby, they would argue as to who was getting him when we went away. Speaking of Bob, called him once I heard and told him, he got very choked up as well, he "popped" in to check up on M while I was still at work. Elaine and I emailed all day.
Have I ever told you all how blessed we are with not only you all but those two?
