Okay, this had probably been discussed on here before many times (sorry) but I was wondering if someone has a quick answer for me.

On the new Expedition Everest ride is the seating plus sized person friendly? :confused3
Has anyone here of a plus size been on it and willing to share their personal thoughts on it?

Thanks in advance! :)

I'm plus sized and had no problems with Everest.

I am a size 26/28 and have never had a problem!

The seats on EE seemed extra wide to me. I think most plus sized people would be just fine on it!

There has been much discussion about larger-sized adults "fitting" into Expedition Everest seats.

Back in late January of 2006, EE previewed to the public for the first time (limited to AP holders and DVC guests).

At that time, the lap-bar restraints had only "one click" to lock into position, and that one position was very low and VERY SNUG into the lap.

Many Pooh-sizers had trouble getting the bar to lock into position and some had to try to lock the bar first, then attempt to "slither" down into the seat with that bar pressing hard into their mid-sections.

I was THERE at that time (late Jan. '06), rode EE several times, and personally witnessed how the lap-bars worked and how the guests had to maneuver themselves to fit in the cars.

Since that preview there have been lots of questions as to whether Disney had made further adjustments to the restraint system.
But nobody seemed to be able to say FOR SURE that there had actually been any physical changes made.

WELL, GOOD NEWS:

After susequent visits to WDW, I can say without question that:

YES, they DID change the restraint system!
There are now MANY lock-position "clicks" on that lap-bar and it can be considered LOCKED at a much "wider and roomier" position than the first timers experienced.

So, EE is now VERY FRIENDLY to Pooh-sized guests... even quite large and tall.

I wanted everyone to know that from someone who experienced the "before" and "after" of the EE restraints.

This means EE joins the other major attractions at WDW that are accommodating to adults of virtually any size!

:thumbsup2 Thanks!! I was wondering about this because I read conflicted reviews on EE being Pooh Sized friendly!

We were there in Feb of 06 and they had a ride vehicle by the exit so you could see what the seats were like. I do not know if it is still there or not, I will check it out in 20 more days:banana: :cool1: :cheer2:

I also rode in September 07 and I'm Pooh Sized - I had no problems on any rides what so ever!

320 pounds. 6 feet tall. Other than having to squeeze my knees together just a bit, I was great. Good enough to ride several times.

I'm Pooh sized and nearly sixty years of age and have ridden with great glee and no problems at all many times in the past six months. It's my favorite ride at AK. Enjoy!:thumbsup2

no problems here at all... I was actually worried about rock n roller coaster but that was fine also

My father is 6'2" and 375 and he had no problems with Everest. he just thought we were trying to kill him! hahaha but he went back on!

EE is no problem at all. Rocking roller coaster and test track back seats are a little tight and space mountain was very tight.
