plus-sized and carrying a Baggallini messenger bag?

I don't know the answer to your question. But, I wanted to let you know that I purchased this bag last night from e-bag.com for $32.94, shipping and tax included. I used a link from mousesaver.com for 20% off. I should have the bag by the 13th so I can let you know my opinion of it.

linda_loo - If the strap (2" wide) is extended all the way, the full circumference of the bag and strap measures just under 5' (looks to be about 4'10"-11" as close as I can measure). Hope that gives you some idea to work with - I find the baggalini messenger bag to be the most comfortable bag I've found so far for park touring.

I used two of these bags exclusively on our trip in January, they were great. I didn't pack them with everything though, just the minor basics. I did have a slight problem with the magnetic front flap, demagnified my park tickets a few times, watch for that. I have a red one and a black one, great with my Crocs!

lbmom5 & bjakmom - thanks so much... big thanks to bjakmom for measuring... just under 5' sounds very generous. I am off to order one, and really appreciate your replies!!!

I have one (I posted on another Bagallini thread about it). You likely won't have any trouble with the straps being long enough to wear it across your chest I'd think. I do find the buckle to be on the heavy side and I didn't like the way the bag fit across my chest. Depending on your bra size, if you know what I mean, a full bag at least - on me - looks a bit awkward! It looks better if I put the main part of the bag in the front of me but it seems made to be carried on the back. When it is in the front it sticks out like an extra 6 inches of stomach.

Otherwise I really like the bag - roomy and well made. I suggest you try it out at a luggage store that sells them if you can find one or order online from a place it could be returned if you don't like it. Try loading it up with all the stuff you plan to carry. I've done better with bags a bit smaller and straps that were not as wide and the bag sits more on the front/side of my hip area.

Linda, I just purchased this bag online from ebags, and it came UPS yesterday. I purchased in black, so my DH wouldn't/couldn't object to carrying it when I get tired!

I am 18/20 plus size, and with the straps let all the way out, it is very spacious, probably a bit too big. DH, who is 5'8 320lbs, with all of his weight in his belly, can also carry, but not on his front - it fit better on his back.

I hope this helps, you can PM me if you have any more questions.

Good Luck!
Monica

Selket and Monki - after reading your replies, I felt pretty relieved (I didn't mention that I had already ordered one and was having buyer's remorse). It arrived today, and it's fabulous, I'm so glad I bought it! There's plenty of room. I wear a 2X or around 22-24 on top and I have plenty of room. Thanks so much, everyone, for your kind replies!

:cool1: I just ordered my Baggallini (thanks for the tips on plus size comfort!) from shoebuy.com - they were slightly less expensive than eBags and they're rated well by Bizrate. I was surprised to see that they are having a one day only sale - an extra 15% off. My total came to $26.31. So if you're on the fence about buying this bag, maybe the extra $$ off will entice you to go for it, like it did for me!!!!
Now if only I could get over the ugliness of the Crocs and buy myself a pair, then I'd really be set for my next Disney trip!

What the heck is a croc?? Now keep in mind that I ask this from very very southern texas so I am not in the fashion meca of the world :rotfl:

Crocs are a comfy kind of shoe that many of us are now wearing. If you do a search on the dis for crocs, you will find a TON of threads about them.

Does the strap on this bag rub anyone's neck. I have one something similar and the strap will slip and rub on my neck. I absolutely cannot stand it.

Thanks for posting this! I was checking that bag out, but I was afraid it wouldn't fit. My DD has a sling-style backpack and it doesn't fit me, so I didn't think the Baggallini would either.

dmslush, I did read one post on another thread from a woman who said that the strap was a bit uncomfortable against her neck and she sewed some extra padding on that part. I didn't see any other posts that said anything about that, though, and I went through dozens of them. Hope that helps!

Just an FYI...the shoebuy site still has the 15% off listed on their website! They're a member of upromise, too - wish I would've checked for that before I placed my order! DOH! :confused3
