Please tell me about Jurassic Park

Please tell me about Jurassic Park. I understand there is a huge drop at the end...how bad is it? Is the drop in the dark or is it outside? What else can you tell me about the ride?

The drop is inside and I'm pretty sure its around 85 ft. It's a great ride and the drop is an added bonus. You have nothing to worry about, just have fun. You also dont get too wet on it if you were worried about that.

The ride is nice and the above poster gave you correct correct figures for the drop. It'll make your tum tum turn silly, but it only last a few seconds and the splash at the end brings you back to earth quick. It's great fun!

My only beef with JPRA is that it rarely has all of the ride effects working. After riding it since park opening i can count the number of times on one hand that all the effects have worked properly.

Have the huge doors at the beginning of the ride been fixed yet? When we were there last year they were open all the time. I missed the effect of the doors opening.

Sometimes when I'm there the doors will open when your boat gets there but a lot of the time they are left open. The last time I was there there was only one side of the door there

I have to agree, however there are so many effects on this ride that if a few are not working it is still a great ride. If it is your first time you will not see all there is to see on that ride anyway.

How about the falling Jeep effect? I have never seen it live, only in promo videos. When was the last time it worked?

The falling jeep in in Universal Studios Hollywood's JPRA.

The falling jeep is at JPRA in USH. That is one of several differences between theirs and ours.

Others include:
Dilophosaurs spitting o/s the building
Raptors coming down from the ceiling
Only a T-rex head instead of a full body.

No wonder I could never find it. So, they used footage of the USH attraction on the USF tape. That explains it.

The drop starts off inside but most of it is outside.

Europa, are you sure? Seems to me like maybe 20% - 25% of it (at most) is outside. I think the bulk of the drop is enclosed.

The entire drop is inside. Only the "splashdown" is outside.

It's a terrific ride! Even if some effects aren't working you probably won't even notice. BTW, the first time my dh went on the drop was a complete surprise!!!LOL![
