Anne60- Yes, we are flying from Manchester to Pittsburgh, and have about 50 minutes to connect to our flight to Orlando. It will be tight. I absolutely REFUSE to fly in or out of any of the NYC airports. I saw a special on TV about how crowded the airways are over the city, and how many delays there are. NOT FOR ME! So, we payed a little bit extra to fly into PIT. Also, I'm scared to death to fly, and all of the near-misses they have in the Laguardia/JFK/Newark area freaks me out. And no PROP planes for me!! I'd rather walk. We made sure we are on 737's and 757's!We have allowed time in our schedule to deal with cancelled/delayed flights, especially coming back. My only concern is catching the PIT to MCO in time....
AugustHeather- Your feelings about USair are the same we feel about Pan Am!!! =) LOL! In my mind, USair would have to do A LOT for me to think it is worse than Pan Am. Our Pan Am flight began to fall apart in the air, and resulted in a 7 1/2 hour emergency landing in North Carolina. They didn't give us food, they didn't even have drinks for us when we got BACK on a plane at 8pm.... They did nothing for the passengers at all.... my nice luggage was not lost, but basically destroyed... I don't know what they did with it!! Other Pan Am flights we took, including the one home from that dreadful trip, were delayed HOURS for no reason. Pan Am flies planes that are 35+ years old and they only have SEVEN in their fleet. If something happens with one of them, flights are messed up for days. The Pease Development Authority is investigating Pan Am because all of the complaints they have received about the airline from passengers has made them consider getting rid of them at Pease altogether! Not for me. And we're not flying out of Logan, we're flying out of Manchester. Its a much smaller, safer airport. Not quite as convenient as Pease, but it will be okay.
