Hi everyone, this is probably going to be one of my last posts until further notice, I just wanted to tell everyone out there in the gulf coast, please be safe!! I am in Pensacola Florida and we are just a few hours away from direct landfall of Hurricane Ivan. We are secure and safe just worried about the aftermath and what sort of damage we will be facing. Please everyone be safe and stay indoors. Many people around us have evacuated, we have chosen to stay and ride the storm out. Please be safe everyone!

I have nine close relatives living in Baldwin County in Alabama On Sunday they said that they were going to stay, but that was before the mandatory evac order. My 84 year old grandmother is with them, she just survived cancer treatment last year and I don't want to see her hurt in the storm

We can't get a hold of them now, I can only hope and pray that they decided to evacuate.

My thoughts are with all on the Gulf coast!

Just got word that my family evacuated to Orlando, thank heaven!

Thanks everybody, still hanging on here, just now starting to get the outerbands of rain and some tropical storm force winds, watching live video of Pensacola Beach, they already have storm surge there. Things are not looking good, we are not under evacuation orders, only low-lying areas in Escambia and Santa rosa counties,the beaches, and all areas of Alabama south of I-10 were mandatorily evacuated. Things are just beginning here. We are hanging on thanks for the thoughts and I will try to keep everyone posted as long as we have power.
