Please send some prayers..UPDATE...#62

He is holding his own right now. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. He is being sedated constantly now, b/c everytime he is anywhere near lucid, he panics. We have even been told not to talk when we are in his room.

Thanks again, and hopefully, there will be a better update tomorrow.

Thank you for the update. I was wondering how he is doing. Continued prayers. Did anyone contact your cousin yet?

Hey guys, I'm sorry it had been so long since I updated....but it isn't good.:guilty:

My grandmother and my Aunt both confessed that he had thought he had heart attacks for the past 6 months but was too scared to go to the doctor.:sad2: The doctors said he has had SEVERAL heart attacks.:sad1:

WHO THE HELL HAS A HEART ATTACK AND THINKS IT WILL GO AWAY?!:sad1: :sad2: I'm sorry, I am upset. Before he went hunting he told my Aunt "I think I might be having a heart attack".

He is doing very poorly and is on dialysis. His blood pressure is 215/180. It isn't a good thanksgiving here....

OH my goodness, I am so sorry you are going through this. I sort of know your pain. A few years back my parents went to another state on vacation. During the night my mom woke up vomiting, pain in her arm, chest pain etc and she thought she was having a heart attack (which she was) but at the time she thought she would wait it out :confused3 before waking my father. It got to the point where she couldn't take it anymore and woke my dad but told him not to call the ambulance just yet:scared1: After about a half an hour she finally agreed to have him call 911 and they rushed her to the hospital and she had surgery and is doing ok now. But when I heard all this I was like "WHAT WERE YOU PEOPLE THINKING " not calling 911 AGHHHHHHHH

I just don't understand WHY they won't call 911. Well, I guess I DO know whey he didn't. He has no insurance (He is 60+ and just started driving an 18 wheeler) and is 1 year shy of medicare.:guilty: I reckon my Uncle will die b/c he was too scared he wouldn't be able to afford health insurance.

I will pray that he recovers. It isn't unusual for men to be in denial of cardiac issues.

I'm sorry to hear that Lori. :(

As far as the rest, it's honestly not that uncommon (especially with men, unfortunately)

My Dad died 36 hours after suffering a massive heart attack when he was 48. (and the doctors had mentioned that he also had previous damage from other, smaller heart attacks)

In hindsight, we realized that he did have earlier symptoms, we just never put two and two together. I suspect he knew that he was having serious symptoms, but he was such a bull headed guy and didn't want anything to do with going to the doctors. He was the type who totally minimized things like that and acted like everything was fine.

It's sad because we know that his life probably could have been saved if he would have listened to his body. Some people are just really stubborn and their fears get in the way of treatment. Ironically, sometimes they pay a very high price for it. :(

I am so sorry your uncle isn't doing so well right now, hopefully he can fully recover. Continuing to pray for him and you and your entire family. :(

I'm sorry Lori.

I think some people are just really scared of what they think may be happening that they are in fear of gettiing a confirmation....so they talk themselves into ignoring it.

I'm so sorry. Sending prayers your way. Don't give up hope.

So sorry this is happening in your family.

My FIL was on a golf outing & we're pretty sure he had a heart attack. All his buddies told him he was having a heart attack. They told his family they're pretty sure he had a heart attack, but he would do nothing about it. Wouldn't go the Dr. or anything. In fact, he couldn't remember the last time he had been at the Dr.

Fast foward about 6 or 7 years & he ends up in the hospital with congestive heart failure, along with numerous other serious issues - including possible somtach cancer. He seriously thought that was the end. Literally scared the "you know what" out of him.

He has since had a turn around, it on medication, goes to the Dr. regularly (has no choice) & is thankful every day. We're very lucky he's still with us.

I'm not sure why some people are so stubborn about their health. :confused3

I am so sorry that things aren't looking any better... I will keep thinking of you all and praying for you all

 i hope things get better for you and your family
