Please Mickey Make Our Year Better!-May 26 PreTrip w/pictures

I've really enjoyed your pre-trippie so far and am looking forward to more! I hope you all have a lovely trip - you deserve it!! :goodvibes

Thanks for stopping by! Sorry to hear about your recent troubles! I hope everything goes well for you! WDW will make it better! Spoonful of Sugar and all that! My DW will be decked out in Lime Green I'm sure, so keep a look out for a woman in lime green walking with probably the only person in WDW at the time to be sporting a full beard.

Thanks for the comments!

:rotfl: I am still laughing at your Tope Ten people watching games!!! Too funny...I had to call my mom into the room and read them off to her and she thought they were wicked funny also.

Your breakdown sounds like fun...I sometimes become like your wife with the Nazi time keeping but on this trip I am going to try really hard to not be like that. Can't wait to read more and your trip is going to be here before you know it.

Is there a huge difference in your children's behavior between the one who likes it as opposed to the one who doesn't? I've always wondered about that!

Thanks!

yes there is a difference but it doesn't have anything to do with what they are drinking :lmao: :scared1:
DD does not like soft drinks - only drinks milk, water and sweet tea- and she is nothing but ATTITUDE!!! DS will drink them- juices, gatorade, not as much milk and water- and he a lot less "attitude". i am attibuting this to age, boy/girl i guess...
i am not a soft drink drinker so i think that helps. i do not buy them except for DH who drinks them like they are going out of style:rotfl: DS MIGHT drink one a week...

i figure i might as well prolong the habit as much as i can :)

:magnify: i just thought about this... i am so glad i am not going to be at WDW when you are... we could be the subject of some of the people watching games :rotfl2:

Formal Introduction time! So far we've been like casual people who strike up a general conversation at the store. Fun to talk to but you have no idea what their name is! Next time you see them you call them "Chief" or "Pal" or "Hon" or "Bud" or "Dude" or something other than the name that even if they had told you what it was you can't remember for the life of you! We are going to go to the next level......

Me

This is me. Roy, by name. I'm a 36 year old Youth Minister out of Murray, KY

36552angie-med.JPG
Elemusing

This is DW. Elemusing is her DIS name. Angie is what we call her at home when we are not angry! She is going to love this picture! Just be glad I didn't use the one of you "scratching" your nose!! She is 35 and a music teacher in Paris, TN. (We live pretty close to the Ky/Tn state line.)

36552nicky1-med.JPG
DS(9)

This is DS(9) - Nicolas. A Disney vet in his own right. He has been more times than most adults (excluding those on this board of course). Here you see him in his favorite activity! Yep, Nintendo DS. This is the same instrument that we have to pry out of his hand to get him in bed at night.

Baby.

This is Baby (laughing at a joke I made) (it could have been a courtesy laugh, I'm not sure). She is a 14 year old Pomeranian who thinks the sun rises and sets with her Daddy (that would be me). The only thing she loves more than me is food and her world is complete when it is I who have the food! She will not be coming to Disney:sad2:

That is the crew! Three people absolutely dying to get to WDW! And speaking of which here are our printed out, laminated day to day plans for the fanny packs.

That is the update for the day. Next up Magical Express plans! Those who have tried Magical Express, what do you think? Was it worth it? Did you get your luggage on time? We would like to know!

Thanks!

We have learned to communicate about it better. The first few trips she wouldn't give you a break, gotta go here, gotta go there, gotta go, gotta go. But after a few years (and a couple of arguments) she learned that we can relax a little! I mean it is vacation. That is why you add the people watching. It helps you relax (laughter does that anyway!)

:magnify: i just thought about this... i am so glad i am not going to be at WDW when you are... we could be the subject of some of the people watching games :rotfl2:

That is not even the funnest game we do. We play one where we try to get in every shot of people taking pictures of the castle from Main Street. If you have a picture of a funny looking guy waving in the background of a picture of your family in front of the castle chances are it may be me! I think I've literally been in thousands of pictures. Now that is alot of fun!

we used ME in Dec 06. We loved it. no problems at all. Didn't have to wait lo leave airport. Luggage came in a timely manner to our room. Would use it again for sure!!

We did ME...looooooooved it!!!! Got to our hotel, went to DD, came back and the bags were there. It was AWESOME!!! Not sure what time they showed up, but it was within a 3 hours or so! :)

Oh...and beautiful fam! I bought "DS" a game...but only I play it! ;) Brain Age??? It is sooooo addicting...

Well I had to come and check out your report after you so graciously commented on mine, and I'm so glad i did. I just showed my kids the pic of Baby smiling and a collective aaaawwww went out, now when we get a dog (which we definately are) it has to be exactly the same as Baby so I'm told:goodvibes
I can totally relate to your wife, I have all the plans, ADR lists, packing lists, so bear with us commando types, we do it all to provide maximum fun opportunites, as long as they are scheduled in of course:lmao:
Finally i want to send my best wishes for a turnaround to your and your family's health for the future, and truly hope this is the start of wonderful things to come, you really seem like a family that deserves it.
Love the report and can't wait to read more:thumbsup2

This is beginning to sound like a sympathy party for DisneyDadFanatic- puhlease! HE LOVES the way I plan! He would be upset if I didn't plan! He bought the freakin' 2007 version of the UG for me (I didn't ask for it!) So don't let him tell you any different. He loves to brag to people about how we pretty much get all the big stuff done at the parks by 11am on early entry day and how we do it because I plan. :snooty:

that's right! I just used the SNOOTY smilie! oh yes I did! ha ha ha ha ha

Now my BFF Melissa thinks it is hilarious that I type out and laminate our touring plans. How are they going to hold up in your pocket all day if you don't laminate them? hee hee

Finally, I have heard BAD BAD things about the luggage taking forever to arrive from people who have used ME. Anyone else want to comment on that? I am getting nervous about using it.

Thanks!
Elemusing

DW and DS play Big Brain Academy! They love it!

Thanks for the info on ME. We've heard good and we've heard bad. I'm glad there is another good. It makes us feel better!

Gimme a break, woman. Can't I have my illusions of life under my control.
(though she is right!)

6) The "Your Sitting Here Doing Nothing Will You Take Our Picture" families
7) The "Where the Heck Are We?" families (hub design, folks, hub design).

Thanks, Marion! I really appreciate the comments!

DW said I should have added "Oh, NO! She did NOT wear that to Disney", but I told her I thought I had it covered in #1!

Thanks for reading and commenting!

Here is a recent (February) picture of Angie and I! This is before I started growing out my hair! Boy, I sure miss my bald head! I know it's still there, I just don't get to see it anymore. It is like a beautiful site line that is suddenly blocked by trees. I know it's there, I just never get to interact with it.

One of our Locks of Love girls said she was cutting her hair in two weeks, so I'm hoping that the other girls will let me take them out to dinner and then they can commence with the head shaving. (That was part of the deal, I would take them to dinner and they could shave my head) I don't think many people want to see me with hair now that they see how it is growing in!

Loving your TR Roy your games list is hilarious, we do some of them too :rotfl2: You all so deserve a great holiday and I love my UG too, read it cover to cover when I got it :thumbsup2

Hi Elemusing - I am a teacher too btw! :teacher: I teach high school science to freshmen! Anyways, we used ME last year. Our plane landed at 6:30 pm and we didnt get our luggage till 11 pm. What they should just go ahead and tell everyone is that it takes 4 to 6 hours for your luggage to arrive. By saying 2 to 4 hours, everyone expects their luggage sooner rather than later. This year we are just going to go ahead and get our own bags and bring them on the ME bus with us. Since we are arriving early, we will have to check our bags at the hotel but at least we will have them if we need them.

Our plans are pretty fluid. We don't feel like we need to follow it strictly. If one ride is to full, we can always get fastpasses and return later. Plus, learning how to work fast pass is very important! Not just knowing you can get one, but knowing when to get one, and when to use it.

Some basic Fast Pass rules:

1) CHECK RETURN TIME! (You can cut two hours out of your schedule if you don't check!)
2) Have a plan on what you are going to ride or do during the wait time. Find rides that have short lines or move quickly, or watch a show!
3) Don't return immediately upon the time on your fastpass. There will be a line! Show up about five or ten minutes after the time (No Wait!).
4) Go get another Fast Pass before using the one in your hand. This is another reason you want to be five or ten minutes late for your return time. Get another pass before you ride your current fast pass ride.
5) Smile like an idiot at all the schlubs waiting in the stand by line. Not to boastful, but a little boastful and a little sympathetic!

DS doesn't care about planning only riding. Honestly I'm not much for pre-planning either, but DW is a wiz at it. Of course, we always have an argument about it mid way through vacation. DW becomes the schedule Nazi and I just want to rest for a minute. You have to put in time to people watch!

These lists and tips are just great!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: Could you cut and paste them and bring them to my trippie??? It could use a little (ok a lot) of humor! Making funny jokes is definately my downfall. That and chocolate!

I am sorry about you FIL and your beautiful fluffy white doggy. I am hoping Disney lifts your spirits :mickeyjum :goofy: :tigger: :donald: :simba: and you make some great family memories!

Looking forward to more! :cheer2:
