I am getting back to scrapbooking after about a 5 year "No Scrapbooking Vacation".

I want to purchase a few nice tools to make scrapbooking easier than just glue, scissors and a ruler!!!:lmao:

Can you please give me the top items you couldn't do without!!!

Thanks in advance.

I can't scrap without my paper trimmers!

12 inch made by "making memories"; personal trimmer made by "creative memories".

My next favorite tool is my cricut expression :)

SCAL2 with cricut
don't know what I would do without them, too bad it isn't sold anymore & the new cricuts won't work with SCAL anymore

I think I saw a commercial about a cricut just last week??

do you really get a lot of use from it?

I'm not sure if I am crafty enough to make the designs turn out the way they did.

P.S. what the heck is a SCAL???

sure cuts ALot - computer program that lets you cut any true type font or svg file with different machines - cricut was one that was affordable (some of the newer ones have come down in price)

the cricut itself is pretty easy - just load the paper on the mat & push some buttons it cuts it by itself but you have to have different carts to cut lot of things

I agree with 12 x 12 paper trimmer
my cricut: love, love, love it!!!!
I find I use my scallop punch alot
Inks I am using more now-a-days

I use my crop-a-dile a lot, of course my paper trimmer, and some basic punches- a couple of sizes of circle and scallop punches to layer together.

Rebecca

paper trimmers, crop-a-dile (for holes as well as eyelet setting), some stencils (stitches, swirls etc.), inks, ribbon, oh and a rainforest of paper:rolleyes1:rotfl:

Cutter Bee scissors. Creative Memories Cutting system. Punch collection - edgers from Martha Stewart bought with coupons at Michaels, and shape punches from Stampin up. Most used - 2 inch square and the biggest circle.

The thing I use most often, besides a regular paper trimmer and 3L tape runner, is my Creative Memories Cutting System for circles, ovals, and other shapes. I've had it for over 10 years and it still works as good as new!

thanks so much for all of the suggestions!!! it seems like scrapbooking has definitely changed for the better.

Now this Cricut thing, I know you said the SCAL uses the computer, but does Cricut??? Or can it be used alone?

it can be used alone - just with the computer you can weld letters togeether
I started with just it - no computer but the more you get into it the more you want to do

the cricut can cut out those 2in squares with the basic cart that comes with it (or 3in or 4in etc) check to see if a craft store near you is demoing one

I love my Cricut Expression and my gypsy (handheld device that works with the cricut). I actually would not use the E as much if i did not have the G.

I also use my big paper trimmer and my Martha Stewart score board a lot.

ATG gun - its an adhesive runner from Scotch available at Michael's & elsewhere. Lots of videos on youtube. LOVE IT.

Cricut Expression though I use it more for card making than anything else.

The cricut is awesome for a ton of things - and I've just discovered using vinyl with it and love it! They are on sale at big Lots this week I think. Crazy cheap.

My favorite tools are:

1. Tim Holtz scissors
2. Crop-a-dile corner rounders (and other shapes)
3. Paper trimmer
4. ATG gun
5. Martha Stewart Scoreboard

I have a Cricut Expression, a Gypsy and an Imagine but most of the time I'm too lazy to use them so I craft with the quickest tools I can get my hands on.

I have a cricut but it is expensive so I will list my tools that I can't live without at a crop.

1. My Tim Holtz ruler......I can't center things without it.
2. My ATG ( advanced tape glider)
3. Cutterbee tweezers. I love them so.
4. Glue gloss.....it's liquid glue in a lip gloss tube.....it's the bomb.
5. We r memory keepers brad setter.
6. Glimmer Mist
7. A great fiskars 12inch paper trimmer and a photo trimmer.
8. A good cutting mat.
9. Lots of different brads ( I have a slight addiction)
10. spica markers...especially the clear one to add glitter to just about anything.

If money is no object then a cricut and gypsy. I have spent over $2000. since 2010 so be prepared it can get expensive.
