I would really appreciate it if you all could keep our little Paul in your thoughts over the next few days. On Monday morning we take him to Children's Hospital for surgery to repair a double inguinal hernia he has had since birth. I know it's a really common and pretty simple procedure, but I would still appreciate any pixie dust you could send our way. Our poor little baby had such a rough start, so many needles and tests and procedures, and I hate the thought of him having to be hurt again.
The worst part is that he cannot have any milk for five hours before the surgery, and he is used to nursing at least every three hours. So, I know he is going to be starving and crying his little heart out and not understanding why I won't feed him. He's come so far since he was born, but he is still so tiny. At 5 1/2 months old he now weighs about 7 1/2 pounds - less than lots of newborns. Still that's a long way from the 1 pound 7 ounces he was at birth! The good news is that, other than the hernia, he is doing great! He's rolling over both ways, holding his head up, smiling like a maniac, and he loves to "talk" to people.
Anyway, I'm sure he will be fine and he will only be spending one night in the hospital, but I'm still worried. It's the idea of the general anesthesia that worries me more than anything. We would all appreciate you thinking about us on Monday. I'll post some more pictures when I can. He really is a cutie!

He's obviously a very strong little boy after everything he has been through! I can't believe how well he's gaining weight! Pretty soon you'll be complaining how heavy he is.
) will be in my prayers and good wishes. He'll do great, but sure do appreciate and understand your worry. Always tough when the little ones are aching. Good wishes, and YES, pictures, please!!!!
