I hate crocs, they are the ugliest shoe fI've ever seen. I have repeatedly told my wife that I will not be seen with her if she wears them. They should be called birth control shoes. Please help my wife to decide on another means of footwear at disney

Thanxxxx

Thanks for the giggle.....but I 100% agree with you....and on our way home from WDW in February, my husband bought a pair at the Orlando airport....UGH (I secretly know that he does not care for them too much and they rub blisters on his feet because he leaves them in the garage and only wears them to run out the trash or take DD down to the pool ;) )

I am a dedicated sneaker and flip flop gal. Even with my favorite sneaks, my feet were still sore after days and days of walking. No blisters, but I can't imagine having worn anything else and I do love my flip flops.

Good luck!!

I don't like Crocs either!!! But, my family loves them. DS (2) has a pair too (with a Mickey thingy on them) that he won't take off.

DH never liked the look of them, but wanted to try some when we recently went to the beach. Now he likes them. He wears them to mow grass too.

Last year (June) we went to DW and I bought some Skecher flip flops that had the same soles as tennis shoes....LOVED them!!! Never had a blister or sore feet.

We went in December and I thought it might be to chilly to wear flops, so I didn't bring them...boy was I wrong. Not only was it NOT chilly, I got a blister the first day from my tennis shoes  . I immediately set out the first evening of our trip to find some flops. I found a pair of comfortable flops at the GF souvenir shop that were so comfortable. Not sure of the brand and I had to pay $35 for them :scared1:. I have NEVER paid that much for flops :sad2: But, it was better than having that blister rub for 7 more days!!!

Tell her to check out the Sketchers. The ones I have are similar to Item 46418 on www.skechers.com. I found them at a local shoe shop and paid $19.99 for them.

I am in a desperate search for something comfortable to take along with my sneakers. I, nor my kids, will not wear crocs and flip flops always hurt in between my toes. I get blisters very easy. Has anyone tried the Skecher's cali's or bikers shoes?

I haven't tried either of the shoes. But I recommend some sort of sneaker or at least a comfortable pair of sandals, such as Clarks

I don't own sneakers or Crocs (too ugly!). When I was at WDW a few weeks ago, I just wore sandals. Not flip-flops because I don't like anything between my toes, but just regular slide in sandals. My feet hurt but I think that was because it was so darn hot and we were walking for miles and miles and miles.

I say just wear whatever you would wear to the mall.

What if your wife wore a different style of Croc? Many of the newer styles are more attractive than the originals. My DD even says my cleo Crocs "aren't bad".

I have the Sketcher's biker shoes and I love them. I'll be taking them to Disney along with my sneakers and flip flops. I really hope I won't need anything except my Sketcher's, but I want to be prepared :)

i swear by my Teva teri-fi's!!!! they are an amazing shoe, but they do need breaking in. if i get a new pair for disney i get them about 2 months before we leave and i never get blisters.....but i also always use blister block, so i would say its a combination of shoe and block.

It's worth trying some other types of flip-flops. I wear Nike-brand ones all summer long -- they're about $18/pair. The upper part is made out of a neoprene type of fabric (the same thing they use for scuba diving suits). They're incredibly comfortable between your toes, you don't even know you have them on. (They're 100 times better than those cheap little rubber $1 flip flops that are so uncomfortable.)

I have worn my Nike flip flops all day at WDW with no problems at all.

I know this isn't what you want to hear but my family bought me a pair of Crocs for farthers day just before our trip in June. I have always hated the look of Crocs and didn't tink they would be comfortable at all. to humor the family I wore them the first day and never wore anything else the entire time I was at Disney. My feet stayed cool and dried off quickly when they got wet I never got a blister. I was surprised but must admit I am now a convert they are a great shoe for the parks

I wear Keens sandals. They are very similar to Teva and extremely comfortable. Great for rain or water rides since they dry quickly and are non-slip. Lots of support and just flat feel great.

Oh my gosh, that is soooo funny!!! I used to think the same thing, but the last 2 years, me & my son's feet & legs have never been more comfortable. We don't have the sore legs or feet the following morning & we go commando style all day. We are both very fit & athletic, but no shoes made SUCH a difference like the CROCS Beach brand shoes. Now granted, we go in December & wear our athletic pants (those parachute/nylon ones that don't get wet if it rains or we ride a wet ride), a new pair of all cotton socks, & apply Bodyglide to our feet before placing on the socks. I am telling you, these 3 items togehter are PRICELESS!!!!!
1. Apply BodyGlide to the bottom/top/sides of your feet.
2. Place on a new 100% cotton pair of socks.
3. Place on your CROCS Beach shoes. Be sure to buy them 1 size larger than your average shoe. The sides, front, & rear of your feet should not touch the shoe. When you are walking all day at Disneyworld, you feet naturally swell & if you buy your CROCS the size you buy your other shoes, they will not fit properly & you will get blisters. They are designed to be bought 1 size larger. See the link from Crocs--

I agree, I thought they were the most ugliest shoe I had ever seen, but they make such a HUGE difference in the overall enjoyment of your DW vacation, I do not care how they look any longer. I just bought some of the CROCS Flip Flop Capris & those are WAY CUTE, so maybe you would let your wife wear those???? I attached a photo of my son's Texas Longhorns CROCS for your enjoyment. :santa: :santa: :santa:

I always wear my crocs in the parks, until the one day on our recent trip when I decided to switch it up and wear my Birkenstocks. I was so surprised my feet were WAY more comfortable than in the crocs! Birks are so much more supportive, IMO. We were in Epcot for 11 hours one day and my feet felt great right up till the moment we left. I have one of the trendier pairs, so they are pretty cute too. :) The only thing about Birks is that you can't get them wet, right?

My husband and I wear sandals very similar to Teva's but they are made by Nike. We love them. Super comfortable and if they get wet they dry quickly. I can honestly say neither of us have ever gotten a blister from wearing them. We always bring Moleskin & Blister Block but we are never the ones needing it. I usually have to pass it out to those who wear tennis shoes.

I have and enjoy my Crocs. In fact, as I type this I am wearing a pair of Croc Caymans. However, for Disney my shoe of choice are Teva Mush flip flops. I also love my Montrail Molokini flip flops down there. They are more expensive than my Teva Mush ($68.00 for the Montrails vs $22.00 for the Mush), but are soooo comfortable.:cloud9: Last week someone on here posted a site that had Teva Mush on sale for like $12.00. Fantastic buy! I've got probably 10 pairs of Mush and have never found them that cheap.

I love my flip flops, but no way I could ever wear those cheap Wal Mart or Old Navy ones down there. My feet have to be comfortable and my arches supported and the Teva Mush and Montrail Molokinis do the job.

All I can do is laugh.
I wore crocs to WDW, and I was perfectly fine.
I thought they were so ugly, but when my converse were drowned out by pouring rain at the MK, I had to buy Mickey ones at the gift shop!

I wore them the next day to Epcot, and I didn't even notice I had them on.
Yeah, I'm a teenager, which is surprising I wasn't yelling and being angry because I had to wear them.

They're comfortable. :woohoo:

I find that my feet will blister no matter what I have on my feet ... but only at WDW! I wore a pair of Birkenstocks everyday for three weeks as we walked all over Europe in the summer of 2004. At the end of our first day in Orlando that fall I had inch long blisters on both heels ... wearing the same shoes! I now bring a seperate "shoe bag" (probably only works when you're driving) with an "assortment" of Birkenstocks, Tevas, Ecco sandals, and Croc flip-flops (the only ones I can stand between my toes!) and switch off every day. I often go so far as to switch mid-day each day. That and liberal applications of "BlisterBlock" allowed me to weather the last trip with only two small blisters which never bothered me much at all.

Teva Mush? I might have to try those. I tried on Crocs and they just don't seem to support my arches at all. But I have high arches. Everyone I talk to says get Crocs. But my son has a pair and he gets blisters from them. I guess everyone's feet are just different, LOL!
