Hello Everyone!

I am not sure what to do, so I am hoping some of you can help me figure this out. We have been trying to come to Disney every year for the last three years now. (After the first year we were hooked :earsboy:

We will be going in ten days now, From Jan.14th to the 24th, and staying eight of the days at POFQ. I went through Kristin Bassnet, AAA agent from here on the the boards. (She has been GREAT, I highly recommend her!) We got the special where we have the seven day park hopper pass with the free water parks and disney quest for five days, we have the whole trip paid for already. Sooooo.... Here is my question!

Can I still change it and get the ten day pass instead? And if so, how much would that cost per ticket? What I am thinking is this. We will be coming back next year for sure, and right now only plan on using five of the days at the parks. SOOOOOO... If I go up to the ten day pass, and get the no expiration, we would have five days left next year when we come. Is this a good idea or bad idea?

Also..... should I add the no expiration now? Or do it when we have five days left on each ticket so it is cheaper? I guess, is that even possible, to add the non expiration during our trip after we have used some of the days?

Just let me know what you all think... How much it would cost.... and what is the best route to go!

Thanks everyone for all your help!!!! I guess I should have thought of this sooner instead of ten days before we leave!! LOL :rotfl:

You can upgrade your pass by going to Guest Services when you get to the park. Whenever you pupgrade it will be the same price, even if you only have 1 day left on the card. The price for no expiry is $100 per ticket not sure about adding the extra days. We just got a 10 day no expiry with hoppers so we have it for a few trips :)

You will still have to pay the 100.00 on the original 10 day ticket even if you only have 5 days left. And I believe Disney will always let you upgrade your tickets!

Just checked the Disney site. There's only 6 dollars difference between a 7 day ticket with plus and hoppers and a 10 day ticket with the same options. I'd say if you can afford the extra 100.00 right now, it'll be a great savings later on. And don't forget you'll have 5 plus options that'll never expire either!

In September my sister and I realized that we should have gotten one more day of passes than what we had, so we went to the ticket window in Epcot and asked about adding on a day. We thought we'd have to pay the full one day ticket price, but low and behold two adults ended up coming out to something like $12. We were shocked at how low the price was. I was thinking that this trip I might upgrade myself and my niece's tickets while we're there. This way we'll have them for our next family trip in a year and my sister will have one less thing to worry about buying for my niece! I'll have to wait and see what my funds look like towards the end of the trip. LOL

I could be mistaken, but isn't there a rule that you have to add stuff to your original ticket within 14 days of first use? Someone with more knowledge will hopefully give more information...

Why dont you just go ahead and get the AP's? They shouldn't be much more? I dont know how much of a diff they would be. Someone else may know :goodvibes

I could be mistaken, but I think that if you wait to upgrade until you're there, you'll be charged the 2006 price for the ticket and non-expiring option and then receive a credit for the value of your current ticket, so it may be a little more. If you can, I would upgrade in advance by calling so that they can still honor the 2005 price. And as mentioned above, tickets that do not have the nonexpiring option at first have to be upgraded within 14 days of the first date of use.

Super! So I could still pay the 2005 price for the non expiration upgrade? I see now it is almost $150 for the ten day pass, and it used to be only $100. And littleprissboutique, what does AP stand for?? Does anyone know with the five day pass to the water parks, etc. that is with our package right now, will those stay on the passes also if I get the non expiration? Thanks again everyone for all your help!

Errrrr... I just talked to Kristin at AAA, and she said I would have to upgrade my brothers ticket to ten day, and non exp. also in order for us to do it! That everyone staying in the same room must do it. Usually it is just myself, my hubby, and our son, but this year we are taking my brother with us for a christmas present. It would not be worth the cost having to get the ten day ticket for him and paying the non exp. price for his also seeing he wont be going back. I am so disappointed.... What a goofy rule! :confused3

micki_streeter that doesn't sound right to me about everyone having to upgrade. I upgraded my two nieces tickets when were there, didn't have to worry about ours since we have AP's. Maybe she couldn't do it, but I'm sure you'll be able to do it once you get there.

Yes, you upgrade those tickets when you arrive in WDW and you will not have to do it for everyone in your party if you wait until you get to WDW to do it. If you try to upgrade now, everyone on the package has to upgrade.

The difference that you will pay will be the difference between the gate prices of a 7-day Premium MYW (expiry) and a 10-day Premium MYW (no-expiry). That comes to $150.17 per adult pass, based on 2006 prices.

The upgrade can be made at Guest Services at any park or in DtD. It must be made with 14 days of the first day of use or before the last park day is used, whichever comes first.

You must upgrade to a Premium pass with more days on it because you have a Premium 7-day pass. You cannot upgrade from a Premium pass with fewer days to a Base Pass, Hopper-only or "Water Park Fun & More"-only pass with more park days.

The cost of adding no-expiration to a 10-day pass is $143.78 (not sure where everyone is pulling that $100 figure from). That figure plus the $6+ difference between the cost of a 7-day Premium no-expiry and a 10-day Premium no-expiry brings you to $150.17 per adult upgrade. FWIW, a child's ticket would cost pretty much the same amount to upgrade.

Even with all the extra costs, you have to remember that you'll be getting 5 extra park days for just a tad over $30/day. To buy another 5-day Premium adult pass (expiry) for your next trip would cost you about $300 (double the cost of making the upgrade). If you have the extra cash to throw towards the upgraded passes, I would recommend doing it when you get to WDW.
