please help

I am trying to find a teddy bear for my wife. i am in the military and she sleeps with a teddy bear when i am away. unfortunately i am away right now and dont really want to buy one from another country due to worries about what it might be made from, dyes, fabrics, etc. i was hoping that someone could recomend one to me from an online source...please be specific about brand, etc.....the softer the better....i know she doesn't want one with any clothes, ribbons, etc(harder to snuggle / sleep with). i was hoping for one about 18-24 inches....larger ok but not any smaller. any help would be appreciated. its hard to judge how soft one is online when you cant go to a store and feel it firsthand.

Try Vermont Teddy Bear - I think their web site is www.vermontteddybear.com. They have awesome bears made in the US. Lots have elaborate outfits but they used to have some plain ones too. They are great bears - very soft and cuddly.

What about Build A Bear?

You can order on their website and get just a plain bear..maybe add a little "I Love You" sound effect if you want. Their bears are really soft and reasonably priced if you don't get the outfits.

I love Vermont Teddy bears too, but they can be pricey. On the plus side, the chocolate that comes with them is yummy!

Another vote for Build A Bear, it would mean more if you choose it, dressed it and you can give it a sound or not.

I was going to recommend Build a Bear also. We have both the Vermont Teddies, and BAB...and the BAB ones are by far softer!! I hope you find the perfect one!

I currently sleep with a Build-A-Bear and he is perfect. I don't think they carry the exact one any more, but it is close to the 16 in Curly Teddy. Whatever you sent I am sure she will love!

One more vote for Build a Bear. Their velvet teddy bears are very
soft. You may want to consider a military outfit for your wife's
bear that she can put on it after you return home. That would
make a great keepsake. No matter what you choose, I'm sure
she will love it.

Now, we have a TON of bears - all sorts and brands, including other Build-a-bears; the materilas can REALLY differ - and this is THE softest ever. And so sqeezable, etc. My DH works night sometimes and I go borrow him for the evening. (We got him because he's ok for those w/ asthma....he's hypoallergenic.)

Oh, and check the better dept stores. They often have great deals on super soft plush bears during this time of year. I know that Dillards and Macys often have special bears for sale.

Well i went ahead and ordered it!!!! I decided on the 17in Read Teddy......little smaller than i was hoping for but i think it will be perfect. Man are the girls gonna be jealous, they love build a bears!
