I just know I will get some great suggestions here! ;)

I made this cake topper set for a bride getting married in May:

She wanted a sweet, simple version of the fondant ears toppers that are available, but something that she could keep and use in her shadow box after the wedding.

She is very happy with how they turned out, but now we are just wondering how they should be placed on top of the cake. Her wedding planner suggested setting them on a round mirror, but I don't think she really likes that idea.

The bride and groom ears are not attached to each other, so they could be arranged any way on top of the cake. They are each just over 2" wide at the base. I believe she is having a three-layer mad hatter cake. Her colors are pink and green with some black and white.

If anyone has any suggestions, that would be wonderful! I am planning on making the rounds this weekend - Michael's, Joann, etc. to see what I come across. But I would much rather go in with an idea of what we could use!

ETA: She doesn't want them permanently attached to any base, since it will be easier to arrange them in the shadow box if they are separate!

Would you make these for other couples ?! Are you on an etsy or eBay sort of site?!

Hi there!

I just tried messaging you on here, and it keeps giving me an error message.

Could you try messaging me? And maybe let me know your email address so I can email you! :goodvibes

Are they made completely of fondant or are they plastic? the black one looks really shiny.

Couldn't you ask the bakery to put some icing on the bottom of the hat and stick it to the top of the cake? they just carefully wipe it off of them after?

I made them myself using clay so that she can keep them without worrying about mold/damage/whatever else you worry about with edible toppers. :)

I believe she is more concerned with the look of the cake. These can easily be cleaned off, no problem, so getting a little icing on them is not really an issue. I think since she is having a mad hatter cake, she is trying to figure out what would go well with these on top of the cake, without taking away from them, if that makes sense.

I think put the groom on the cake, then the bride on top of something and a little higher behind it, so it doesn't take up too much space on top of the cake

what about having them both tip, mickey to the left, minnie to the right, to give the illusion of the mouse kiss?
