Hello everyone! I am going crazy and need help. I know this has been answered a million times but I cant find it anywhere.

I have a target debit red card. When Im online about to make a gift card purchase how do I make sure to have the red card as my default payment type? A friend of mine said its already the default but Im unsure. I want to make surr aim getting the max discount. Thanks so much!!!

I just went through this.

At Target.com sign in and go to your account at the top left corner.

It will say, "Hi, name". Click on that, manage my account. You may be prompted to sign in again, do so.

To the right you'll see a box that says my account information. Look at default payment method. Do you see an icon that looks like the red card with the last 4 digits of the number? If not click on edit payment method.

If the red card isn't there, you can click the plus sign to add a credit or debit card. Add your card and expirations date. At the bottom you'll see "make this my default payment option (optional)" Check the box. When you're done, you will see it as your default.

Thank you for this! I was wondering too.

Am I remembering correctly that you can order gc's on the site, change the default to credit card at the end of the transaction and still get the red card 5% off? Or did I make that up, LOL?

Thanks soooo much!!! It worked. Im getting ready to purchase south west air so my plan is to purchase target gc off raise then use the target gc to go onto target.com to purchase the swa gc with the extra 5% using the red card. Thanks again

Yes. At the shopping cart there is an option to add your gift card and code. You'll see the balance. Input it and make sure the balance is there. When you're ready to click the process button you should see 5% off in red. If you don't then double check that red card is your default card in the account settings. It will treat your gift card as if it were your red card and give the extra savings. I just did this 2 days ago.

Awesome. Some people use that same strategy to buy Disney gift cards.
I will definitely use this for my Disney gc as well. I already have over $400 disney gc for free for just shopping at target but Im headed to WDW in Oct using my time share then to Disneyland in March using the same time share. I wish I knew about this last year when we went and spent over $12000 on our honeymoon staying onsite

Thank you! So you can do this with a Target gift card but not a credit card, is that correct?

How does one get GC for free just for shopping at Target? (I'm new to this gift card thing. Sry if this is a stupid ?)
Well I shop at target often. I buy whats on sale using coupons plus my cartwheel and often its on a gift card promo but the best one was buy iphone 6 and get $150 gc free. I upgraded my daughter got $150 free gc then received another $125 for trading her iphone 5 in. I just save them until I need them. I plan on using them for my airfare via southwest air on targets site and our disneyland tickets for march trip. My disneyworld tickets for my oct trip is already paid for thanks to target
