After much waiting we now have our Escape wedding booked for Tues 8 Nov 2011!!

We are able to get pencilled in for an EPCOT DP and three sites have been suggested for us; Morocco, Vikings Landing and Kazbah Point.

Can anyone help us to make a decision as to which site would be best? There will be 11 of us in total (all adults).

Vikings and Kazbah work out cheaper than Morocco but it is very difficult to find any photos which show what the view of Illuminations would be like. Also, we are concerned that we won't be able to see the globe from Morocco because of the island in the lake.

Any help is very much appreciated!!

Vikings Landing and Kazbah Point - are they standing room only sites?

Well it states that they are but when we spoke to our coordinator last night she said that two tall boys with stools can be brought in and in some of the photos we've seen there appear to be benches which could be used if necessary.

To be honest, it's not very clear and we're a bit confused ourselves!!

We have a total of 11 and will be doing it in Morocco. To be honest, I don't know about the other two locations, but the viewing at Morocco is very clear and you will have no problem viewing the globe. It can be seen beautifully when it gets to the center of the lagoon.:rotfl:

The standing-room only sites are very small and cannot be guaranteed to have seting. That said, there have been benches at Vikings Landing for YEARS...

Here are the views from Vikings Landing and Kazbah Point:

I think I have more pix of Viking's Landing somewhere, but I have to dig them out...

Thank you Carrie, that is very helpful. If you do have any other photos I'd really appreciate it.

I did ask about having the DP in the UK if I was willing to pay the minimums but was told that as I have less than 20 guests it wasn't an option!

Hang in there—often at 30 days out they will let you switch to one of the bigger venues if no one else has booked it. :thumbsup2

where exactly does the globe end up in these pictures? Just curious, we might do a DP. Anyone willing to put an x on the photos, where the globe sits, because when I guess sometimes i'm wrong.... when it comes to illuminations.

thanks

Yes that would be really helpful as we also can't visualise where the globe would be and would hate for our guests to not see all of the show.

I find it strange that Disney like to point out that they cannot guarantee the benches will be present. I always have visions of a couple of CMs scampering off with them. :rotfl2:

I vote for Morocco. I read a beautiful trip report on here by a girl on here named "Princess Shea" who had her DP in Morocco and it looked really lovely in the pictures. I remember her being very happy with the location as well.

Here is the link to her TR:

We picked Morocco (or I guess, I picked Morocco:rotfl:) after reading Princess Shea's description of her DP.

I'm going to be at Epcot Sunday night and will try to get pix from Vikings Landing during IllumiNations so you can see exactly what the view will be like. :thumbsup2

Oh wow, that is so kind of you, thank you very much!!

We are really struggling to make a decision-ideally we will go with either Vikings Landing or Kazbah Point to keep the cost down but we really don't want to be disappointed with the view and are slightly concerned about the trees which seem to overhang the locations. Seeing some photographs of the show from the two spots would be fantastic!

Hi Lurkyloo.

Hope you had a great time in Epcot yesterday. If you were able to get any photos (or if anyone else reading this has any) please let me know and I can finally make a decision and get booked in!!

I saw on FB/Twitter that she wasn't impressed with Norway.

Hi! I was wondering what everyone's opinion was of the terrace de las fleurs- sorry if i mispelled that. My consultant never booked my DP when he said he did so this is my only option- upper terrace, does anyone know what the view is like and how it is when the lower terrace is booked for a seperate party?

Pictures are on the way—just have to get them off my camera and posted online! I was disappointed to see that the top third of the show is obscured by the trees in Norway. You can see all the fireworks on the water around the globe, but anything launched high in the air (like, you know, the finale) is hidden by the branches. :(

Lots of people like this location. There are no overhanging trees, just an island that's partially in the way of some of the lower fireworks. When the lower terrace is booked for a separate party, those people have to go through your party to get to theirs. But I'd imagine Disney puts up a rope or something to create their path.

Here are some of Disney's official pix:

And here's my shaky-cam video walkthrough of both upper and lower terraces... :teeth:

OK, here are pix of the show. You can see the low fireworks, but none of the high ones.
