Please advise:

I will be staying at the All-Star Music Resort. I will start the day at the Magic Kingdom (I want to arrive 30 minutes before the official opening), then hop to the Disney Studios around 2:00, then go back to AS-Music around 6:30. I will have a rental car. I am looking to spend the least amount of time traveling, and I've never used Disney transportation before.

My question is: Should I Drive my rental car, or use the Disney transportation?

Please weigh in with advice/experience/thoughts.

Thank you.

Personally, I'd take the Disney Transport. More of a hassle to driver yourself................after getting into the lots, parking 2 miles away and then making your way to the gate........................

The busses, boats, and monorail drop you off right in front of the respective gates...............and you could gain some valuable hints from the captains of these vehicles................

I've had a car there on several occasions...........and once it was parked, it was parked until checkout..............

We have stayed at all three all stars and hated the busses. Each trip we would try and use the busses and get fed up and go back to driving our car. You really don't walk that much at the parking lot. The tram drives you to the area you are parked. Also the bus gets crowded and it is very uncomfortable. Don't forget you still have to stand in line to get on the bus.

Hmmmm......

It's a draw. I would say that it's probably easier to use Disney transportation, strictly in the instance you're describing.

Disney Transportation bypasses the Ticket and Transportation Center, and leaves you right at the Magic Kingdom gate. It lops off a good part of your time, because you don't have to wait for the monorail, ride the monorail, and then the tram to your car. I've never used Disney transportation though, so I don't know if you can get a bus to MGM from the Magic Kingdom gates, or if you have to go to the TTC.

I would suggest the Disney transportation.

With a visit to MK and a car you would have to park your car, ride a tram to TTC then board a boat/monorail to get the MK entrance. With the resort bus they will drop you off directly at the entrance of MK. You will be able to board a MGM bus at the MK entrance or at TTC.
If you were just going to MGM then I would say use the car because the lot is small and makes it easy to use.
