We currently have reservation for Pop Century for 8/24-9/1 for $73.80 per night using the AAA discount. We also have annual passes and the Disney Dinning card. I also have the Disney Visa card. Will it be better for us to switch to "free dinning" through the Visa offer which will mean we will pay rack rate ($92 per night) and be required to buy a "1" day park ticket. We have our meals already booked so if we did switch would we have to rebook our meals? This is just a little confusing as we have never even looked at the dinning option and have always gone with the Dsiney Dinning card.

Can you shed some light for us,
Thanks

How many are in your party and does everyone already have an annual pass?
Remember that if the free dining comes out you still have to pay for any appetizers and tip so it is not totally free.

There are 3 adults in our party (son is 13) and we all have AP's. The current savings on our room comes to around $160 (ballpark) with our AAA discount. We were thinking about doing a split stay. Now with our Disney Dinning card we can save on the room as well as 20% on our meals so I am assuming that it is best to stay the way we are.

Am I wrong?

I'm in a similar situation....at POP from 9/4-9/7, myself (AP), dh (10 day non-expire) and dd (14 has a 2 day after 2 pm convention pass), and we are booked with the AAA discount. I figured out what it would cost me to stay as we are now, using my DDE card and buying my dd a 3 day, one park expire pass. Then I figured what it would cost to do the package, getting 3 1 day park passes (one for each of us) that dd could use in addition to her existing pass, and didn't put in the cost of food. The package came out cheaper for us.
But it will be different for each person...depends on what you need for passes, what kind of discount you are able to get on both your room and your dining. Run the figures both ways and see what you come up with. I'm going with the package either way. Just makes sense for me, and that usually is not the case.
