Please help ~ questions about Disney's Dining Experience card....

I am considering purchasing this.....it entitles you to 20% off at select restaurants....

is this valid anytime at these restaurants? I am assuming you only need one card per family? have you found it to be worth it?

When we go in May all of the restaurants we will be dining in are included....and it may cover the $70 cost but I think it would take another couple trips to pay for itself.

oh and is it 20% off the ENTIRE meal? alcohol included?

I do know it is 1 card needed per family, anytime.
MIL had 1 when we were at WDW Oct 01. Mentioned it this time and she thinks it's a good idea to get again.

We have a home in NJ and FL, so we are able to get the Disney Dining Experience Card. We have found it to be completely and absolutely worth the cost. Our favorite thing to do is eat when we are down in Disney! We have always used our card for breakfast, lunch and dinner at just about all of the Disney restaurants. We usually get down to Disney a couple times a year. For us, it does pay for itself during each trip. It is good for a year, and renewal is $60. Maybe you will get to use it on another trip later on. My DH and I each have a card under the same membership, in case we get separated.

We have found that it is totally worth it! My DH and I each have a card too is case we aren't together. It is good anytime and alcohol is included. Don't forget it is also good at most of the lounges in the resorts too and some of the AK counter service places. Just last month 4 adults dined at Flying Fish and the discount was $50 for that one meal. Enjoy!

Also we find it is easier to get the total bill first and then give them the card when paying with our resort id. That way you know what the "before" total was so you can tip accordingly. I make sure the waitstaff is not jipped because of the discount.

You also get to have 2 guests per card get 50% off your admission to Pleasure Island. Since you get 2 cards per membership, this entitles 4 people to walk in at 50% off.

We saved the cost of the membership on one meal! AT Christmas the whole family went and one night the four cousins and their wives went out to eat together at Wolfgang Puck's. The bill was $400...so we got $80 off!!

Each membership gets you 2 cards....one for you and a complimentary one for your spouse. Each card is good for up to 6 diners, so if both of you are at the meal, you can save on the meal for up to 12 people!! You also get invitations to special (pricey!) events periodically throughout the year....the ones we've gotten so far were a Christmas dinner/dancing for $150/person, a Valentines dinner, and a Braves spring training tailgate party/game package.

We've used ours on 2 trips so far, and will be using it again in 6 weeks or so. Can't even begin to know how much we've saved.... we saved the cost plus some on our first trip for just the 2 of us for 4 days, then took 20 family members for 5 days in December (only save on 12 diners though), and will be taking our family of four in May!!

One note....this can only be ordered by phone and comes by regular mail...so allow 3-4 weeks to receive it before you leave. Our first trip was Nov 1 so we ordered ours the first week of October and got it in plenty of time. It is active from the day you purchase it, not first use.

IMO, DDE is the best deal going!!

great - I think I am going to go ahead and purchase it. In October we are planning our daughter's 2nd birthday and I was thinking of doing 1900 Park Fare for dinner and invite and pay for the family - this is great to know that we would get 20% off 12 diners - I was thinking it would be 6!!

I will purchase tomorrow!!!
