please help - paypal acct question

Do can you load a Paypal debit/Visa card with money without going through the bank account.

If you do it through a bank account then it takes like 3 days and I need this to happen pretty much immediately.

I am traveling, have no available funds until tomorrow am. My ATM card is not working....so have to wait for days for that. I do have a Paypal card that I would like to "load" tomorrow in the most efficient and properly quicky.

You (or a friend with cash) can get a MoneyPak and use it to fund a Paypal account. The cash goes into the Paypal account as soon as the card is used to apply to funds.

Not sure if you got it yet, kind of late in the day now. Can you get someone w/ a paypal to send you money. My ex pays my allimony thru paypal and it is available immediately on my card. I believe they just use the "Send Money" option and put in your email.

On an unhelpful now, but can use later note...good to always bring at least 1 "emergency" travelers check. I've never been at a hotel (if you are staying at one?) that does not cash them. (I'm assuming maybe you don't have a cc to access b/c relying on debit card & paypal, but that is always good to take too in case of situations like this, if you have/can get one.)

And you can buy Green Dot MoneyPaks at just about any retail store (Walmart and most grocery/drug chains). You'll find them with the gift cards, or at the register.

However, if you need a card that's not connected to a bank account, the Walmart Money Card may be what you need...

I have a paypal account for many years. It was used to sell stuff and occasionally purchase items througout the years.

I did not want it linked to my personal checking account...which I have since learned that to add funds to paypal acct the fastest way is through your own credit card or by transferring from your own checking account. The bank account transfer takes up to 3-5 business days. We no longer carry credit cards so that is not an option.

I have since learned about the GreenDot Money Pak.
It worked wonderfully for my needs on my NYC trip.

You invited everyone in when you posted your tail of bad luck on these boards. You perpetuated it when you started multiple threads asking for tips and help about multiple bad things taking place at the same time. These are added to your posts about pizza prices and safe places to play basketball in NYC. Those are combined with your wanting to know what everyone was getting for Christmas, though you couldn't afford anything, and whether the new sensor system for Xbox 360 was worth it. You also happened to have a "friend" give you some brand new AG doll stuff that you wanted to know how much they would bring you if sold. Sorry, it does get old.

I am glad it worked out for you... What I do is I have my paypal debit card linked to my account.. You can set your limit and I use it just like I would use my bank debit. It than tranfers the money out of my bank account 2-3 days later but I can use my paypal debit card instantly.

I use it in place of my bank debit card now because of the % back. I have made $70 since January .
