Hello!

I'm planning my family's first ever trip to WDW in June 2017. We're DLR vets who usually don't plan very far ahead and WDW is slightly overwhelming. :o These boards have been SUPER helpful! So, who wants to critique my plan? We've scoured the menus and I think have our ADR's figured out. It'll be myself, DH and DS9 (at the time of our trip) and we are on the DDP, staying at Pop for 9 nights.

Fri 6/16 - Travel day; flying in from San Francisco, so depending on what time the flight arrives, I'm hoping to go to DS and try Wolfgang Puck Express. If it's too late, we'll probably stick to Everything Pop or grab something at the airport.

Sat 6/17 - EPCOT; Via Napoli dinner 7:00, Les Halles lunch

Sun 6/18 - MK; CRT PPO breakfast 8:00, Cosmic Ray's dinner

Mon 6/19 - HS; Sci Fi lunch 1:00, Backlot Express dinner

Tue 6/20 - AK; Yak & Yeti dinner 5:00 (too early?), Flame Tree lunch

Wed 6/21 - EPCOT; Garden Grill PPO breakfast 8:00, QS in World Showcase dinner - recommendations?

Thurs 6/22 - MK; Ohana dinner 5:00, BOG lunch 12:00

Fri 6/23 - this is our toss up day, either HS or AK depending on where we want to go back to - if HS, 50's Prime Time lunch 11:30, either AoA or Pop QS dinner - if AK, Tusker House brunch 11:00, Harambe Market dinner

Sat 6/24 - MK; Tony's Town Square dinner 6:00, Pecos Bill lunch

Sun 6/25 - Travel Day; if the flight leaves late enough, we'll head to DS and try Chef Art's Homecoming for lunch, which will probably be OOP

We're not big breakfast eaters usually, so will probably grab a granola bar or fruit in the room. I'd like to get a grocery delivery for water and snacks. DH & I will probably use 1 snack credit/day on Starbucks coffee. :scared:

Thank you to anyone who is willing to help! :thanks:

I really like your plan.............nothing to overwhelming.......efficient is the word that I feel.....and I mean that as a compliment. I really like your choices of Peco's Bills and FlameTree BBQ.....both are personal favorites. We just did Ohana for dinner this past November..........if you're a meat eater.......its good........but its alot of meat. We were overwhelmed. Have not ever heard good things about Tony's Town Square......probably why we stay away from it......Crystal Palace is more fun because of Pooh and friends. My wife and I are also big fans of Tusker House......the buffet is good and the characters are the best! Keep in mind CRT is 2 DDP credits.............

Have a great vacation!

Doug :goofy:

Plan sounds great so far! As it gets closer, you will see if Rivers of Light show is going on at AK at nt., and may want a dinner package to get reserved seats if they become available, or plan to line up early since it is a small theater. Keep watching here for updates! Your DS may enjoy the Wilderness Explorer program you can do around the park for free as you tour - you pick up a booklet on the way in over the bridge, and they will explain. Don't miss Safari and Lion King show, and trails that go up close to Tree of Life - really neat to see all the animals carved into it. For Tusker House, try to get ADR around 10:30-10:40, so you get end of brft and beginning of lunch choices as buffet changes over - one if out faves!

At MK, be sure to check out projection show on castle at nt. - really cool.(not sure if you have one at DLR). We love Philharmagic, 3D movie that doesn't usually have a long wait. If you want to do 7DMT or PP, get FP or do at Rope Drop. Rope Drop is your best friend if you can do it, as you can get a lot done in the first few hours before it gets crowded and hot at the time you're going. Some people do morning, leave for afternoon/pool break, and head back in for dinner/evening. Do not try to leave right after Wishes, mob scene. Just hang out, grab a snack, etc and let things clear out. Sleepy Hollow bear the castle has great snacks, we often grab while getting a spot to wait for projection show/Wishes, and many people love the Dole Whips in Adventureland.

As Epcot, get FP for Soarin one day(don't think you have the new movie out there) and Test Track the other, since you can only have one in Tier 1 FP here. Check out Club Cool where you can taste sodas from around the world for free - one is disgusting to most, but I will let you be surprised, just be prepared to spit it out! It is hidden away before bridge over to World Showcase. In WS, DS might enjoy the Agent P missions you can do in the countries - fun way to explore without being bored for them - Germany is a favorite for us.

At HS, I know you have a TSM ride as well, and you will want a FP if you want to do it here. If DS is into Star Wars, you can get there early to sign up for Jedi Training, and can go to Launch Bay to meet Chewy and Kylo and see memorabilia(there us a thread on SW activities at HS on here if interested).
DD loves Indiana Jones Stunt Show, and Muppets 3D is fun. You will love Sci-Fi! Fantasmic! show at nt. is awesome as well(again, not sure if you have it).

We enjoyed staying at Pop like last yr., but did pay a little extra for preferred, to be closer to the front to Food Court and to bus stop - nice especially at nt, when you are tired coming back. We requested 60s Building 5, which was also right next to main pool. If you do not want to pay for preferred, definitely request a section that you want, as it is pretty spread out. If you haven't already, check out the Pop thread on Resorts Forum - first few pages have great info and pics, and map of resort. There is another map, I think on page 112 in a post, that highlights preferred/standard/etc. so you can see. Garden Grocer is a good grocery delivery service we use for the snacks and water in the room. HTH!

Your plan looks great. Ohana is a lot of food, just make sure you are hungry enough if you have lunch at 12 and dinner at 5. We really liked to QS at AoA and Wolfgang Puck Express is one of our favorite QS. We really like Tangerine Cafe in the World Showcase, their schwarma plate is good (although not nearly as good as Good Frickin Chicken in SF.)

You could always consider hopping the monorail and going to a monorail resort TS to replace Tony's, we have always been hit or miss there (mostly miss....)

We are going to be in WDW in June 2017 as well and we want to try Garden Grill for breakfast as well....
