HI there!
My trip is set for May 19-26 and we are staying at the ASMo resort! This is my first time staying on property so I am very very excited! It will be me (21) DSister (19) and Dbestfriend (20), our plain arrives at MCO at 10:38, and i noticed that check in at the hotel is at 4pm. We are doing the magical express so we won't need to worry about our luggage. But we did not purchase our 6 day hopper passes yet, we are struggling college students who just didn't have the money to put out for them when we booked the hotel. Now we were planning on buying them when we checked in, but we want to go to a park during the day, can we check in before 4? We don't necessarily want to get to our room, we just want to get our passes on our room key. Hmm...anyone have any advice.

Also does anyone have any idea for a good park for the first day? We have PS ressies at Chef Mickey's :earsboy: at 7:10, its a Thursday, and I would think that the EMH park that is open that day would be a good choice. Hmmmmm HELP IS APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :confused3

You can check in when you arrive at the resort. You can buy your tickets there at the resort.

If your room is not ready you can leave your luggage with bell services and head off to a park. They will give you a number to call to check and see if your room is ready and the room number. When you return to the resort you don't need to stop at the front desk again. Just call bell services and they will deliver the luggage.

If you are struggling students then you might want to pick up your own luggage so you don't have to tip the person delivering the luggage.

HAHA we are not really struggling....lol I work full time and go to school full time, if i was STRUGGLING I wouldn't be going on this vaca!! :rotfl:

We are using the magical expres where they take care of our luggage the moment we get the the airport in chicago.

Thanks for the advice!!!

Also, is it cheaper to purchase the tickets ahead of time vs. at the hotel or gate?

Well the above poster got it perfect. You can check in whenever you want, but there's no guarantee your room will be ready. Just go to the park and then come back and it'll be ready.

Let us know how Chef Mickeys is. My bf and I are 21/20.. and I want to know if you like it. As for what park to go to, I'd start with MK since you are right there at Contemporary. Plus its a great way to get the trip started. We personally try to avoid the EMH days cause they seem real crowded to us.

Good luck.

I am not a ticket expert - hopefully someone who is will reply. What I do know from experience is that there is a slight discount on passes if you buy them in advance. I think that my reservation person said it was about 12 dollar savings on our 7-day tickets. You can buy tickets through the website now and have them in your hands when you arrive at the park...you could also call reservations again and ask them to add tickets to your room reservation. BTW, I've been told that the new MYW passes are all separate from your room key (but that could be wrong)...

You can always try to check in early -- the room may or may not be ready, but they can help you out with your tickets and stuff then.

PLEASE CORRECT ME AS NEEDED OH BRILLIANT DISNEY MASTERS

You might want to check on Magical Express. AAA agent told me that did not apply at the "budget" resorts, only "moderates" and higher.

I just called and Yes! We have Magical Express Benefits....Also CM recommend me to ask directly to them any other questions I have about this trip instead of any Travel Agent or AAA Agent cause they can give the info inmediately.....We are arriving at 12:00AM and we already gave them the Flight Arrival Time so they can be ready to pick up us.....and we are staying at ASmu.

Thanks for all your replies! I booked online directly with WDW and they offered the magical express so I am assuming that its available for us, since I already gave them my flight info!

Beth--
Chef Mickey's is great! VERY energetic, they make you wave your napkins in the air as the characters dance around table by table, take pics, sign autographs. Its sooo much fun and I HIGHLY recommend it! :Pinkbounc

Thanks again everybody!!!
