My twin girls turn 1 during their first trip Walt's park. Please help with ideas on making this trip extra special...something that is unique and special...I will also have my DS (8) with us and 2 others in our group.

Can someone please lead me into the direction of getting shirts made? How do we get to "steer" the boat? Is the Lily train still available for rides? What can I do to create memories to show them when they are older?

Thank you for all of your help!

Being so young, this is more about a making the trip magical for your family so you can tell your little ones about their first trip to DLR. I know it sound cliche, but I think one of the best things to do is to see the parks through their eyes. Take joy in seeing them have fun. Assuming they aren't scared of them, character meet and greets can be fun and if you take a photo you'll have something to show them when they're older.

Sadly, from what I've read here on thee Disboard, the Lilly Belle is no longer available to the general public.

Take lots of photos and/or videos. My friend did that with her daughter on their first trip and the little one really liked watching the parade video over and over.

The Lilly Belle is not available to everyone any more, unfortunately!

If you would like to pilot the Mark Twain, you simply have to go line up, and ask to ride in the Pilot House!(Keep in mind, that you might have to ask more than once, if they have promised it to someone else, for that particular trip.)

As far as making memories, take lots of pictures, take your time enjoying the details, let your children dictate the pace, let them run wild on Tom Sawyer's Island, etc.

We have found that it is not a major splurge of any kind which makes a memory, it is all the little things, and the slowing of our pace which really enhances our time/visit, and makes for a memorable trip!:thumbsup2

Some of our best memories of the kids dancing to the music. We have video of our oldest dancing to the main street marching band and to the jazz band in NOS. At that age it's something that is so fun! My kids are also huge fans of the guitar player in DTD that's always near Tortilla Joes. He's great with the kids and sings some kid songs too. They run around that entire area with the fountain and have a blast!

As the PP said, take lots of photos and videos! My kids love looking back when they were little.

Be sure to get them first visit and happy birthday buttons!

Have fun!

When we were in the parks last Nov we decided to ride the Lilly Belle and while I was waiting, the time for the reservation was changed to later. We did ride her and enjoyed the legacy of the car by the conductor.
Something Leslie and I will always rememeber.

I did hear if you take one of the tours(cant remember which) or are a Club 33 member, you can still ride it.

Good luck,

Jack

Be sure to check out the Big Thunder Ranch/Jamboree area. It's a quiet, shaded area and there are always characters milling around back there.

We overheard the CMs telling a larger group that there is a limit of 5 people. Also, I think it would be hard to climb the ladder with toddlers. I'd save that one until they're older and it will be an actual memory instead of a photograph.

Buy them cupcakes with the brightest color frosting you can find, then let them dig in right in front of the castle and take pics.

I LOVE the idea with the cupcake...I am getting all teary eyed reading all of these comments.

We will definitely be slowing down to their pace and seeing Disney through the eyes of a child. My son's second trip we did BL 33 times in 3 days because it was his favorite. It was back when BL had FP and the CMs gave us a stack of blank ones to use which helped us ride it that many times.

Tom Sawyer Island will be good for my son and one of my memorable moments was actually at WDW watching my son and my friend's 2 daughters trying to catch the bubbles and hula hooping. They got to burn off some energy without waiting in line.

Depending on weather, we might take them to Bug's land where they have the dancing water...I just don't know if they will be walking by then.

I am always open to more ideas!!!

We are going to have a photo autograph book for all CMs to sign that we come in contact with.

My son says I'm a picture freak, so I will be taking video and pics!!! Sadly, we are not club 33 members...how I wish I could be one. I understand about having to do ask more than once and that is something we haven't done before.
