I just booked with the AP rate for April 2-9 and the only moderate was CSR. I really had my heart set on POR but alas, no availability! Please tell me all the good things about CSR. I honestly must say this resort was not my first pick BUT I know you Disers and if anyone can get me psyched about this place it's you all!!

So tell me everything!

we loved cs. i think they have the best food court from all the moderates and deluxes. (atleast all the ones we have stayed at) the pool is fun and if you are into jogging or walking, going around the lake is beautiful... busses were no better or worse than pofq or cb. don't worry!!

We stayed at CS a few years ago and it was one of my best vacations ever! I was so pleasantly surprised about this resort. It was so peaceful in the morning and what a great place to walk. The foodcourt had a good variety of food for everyone, they have a nice little bar and everyone there was very friendly. The busses were very easy because they only service this resort. Even after staying at GF, BC concierge and Poly concierge, I wouldn't mind going back to CS! I think you will enjoy it too! :sunny:

This will be our first stay at CSR too, and now with the AP rate we just got, I am even more exited! I have looked at hundreds of pictures of CSR and it looks nice. The only thing that has me concerned is the size of the resort. They say it is very spead out, but that won't ruin it for us. I heard many great things about CSR from here and friends that have stayed there. I'm sure you will have a great time. Maybe we will see you there! Looks like your dates overlap ours. Have a fun trip!!!

After our first stay at this resort, my wife insisted we had to return to CSR for our next trip! It is just beautiful and well laid out. There were several well spaced bus stops, so you are never too far from the bus. We loved their food court! The main pool was just great too---built on a Mayan pyramid theme with a really big slide. I do not see you being disappointed about it.

:D

The CSR is a great resort. There are plenty of things to see and do, especially at the Dig Site. The slide is awesome. You can rent a water mouse (tiny speed boat that goes about 30 M.P.H.) on the lake. The overall theming is great and it provides a romantic setting at night if you would like to take a walk around the resort. I wasn't too thrilled about the Pepper Markets system of paying for food, but that was the only drawback. I stayed in the Ranchos section and thought it was the best themed. Have a great time.

We stayed there in 2000, and will be going back in March. We liked the food court also, the variety of food (and the quality too) was better than the other resorts we have stayed at. We were close to a bus stop, which was convenient, the walk around the property to get to the food court was peaceful (even when dragging tired girls to breakfast). When planning our upcoming trip, my gang all requested CSR, so that's where we're going. We'll be leaving when you arrive, (maybe you'll get our room, he he he!). I think you'll enjoy it!

I'm another CSR lover - the lake is beautiful in the early morning, when all is quiet, and the mist hangs over the water. And it's even more beautiful at night, with the resort lit up.

If you like colors, be sure to ask for a room in the Cabanas section.

Next time I want to stay at a moderate, CSR will be my first choice. (But we'll stay where my wife wants!)

OK a litle bit more and I'll be THRILLED!! Thanks everyone and please keep the positives coming!

ANOTHER CSR fan here. It's the only resort we have stayed at twice! DH was disappointed that I didn't reserve there this next trip, but I am trying all the resorts at least once.

What we liked: absolutely gorgeous theming, not as chaotic as other resorts, the Dig Site is fantastic...and there are several quiet pools scattered about the resort for convenience, the grounds are spotless and relaxing, the transportation was perfect - we never waited longer than 5 or 10 minutes at the resort. When we returned to CSR after Spectro, we waited in a quiet line and our bus came very quickly as opposed to some of the other resorts where the lines were long and folks looked very cranky.

We only ate breakfast at the Pepper Market but that was good.

We would definitely stay there again (even though we are DVC owners)!

DH is stuck on CBR but we have been there a few times and I think it is time for a change. We got the AP rate for end of March and booked with CSR but the one thing he (alright - me too) love at CBR is feeding the ducks - are there ducks at CSR and can you feed them out of your hand? It may sound strange but that is one of the small things that we loved to do at CBR - thanks for any advice:)

We have looked for photos of CSR; nothing in the DIS photo gallery - does anyone know where we can find photos of this resort?

We have stayed at Coronado and often visit even when we are NOT staying. This last visit, we shopped there and had snacks and swam (we have DVC and this is allowed). The grounds are lovely and the pool is one of the niftiest in all of WDW. There is a giant hot tub that's to die for... Even the Polynesian doesn't have that! The lake is lovely, especially at night. I have read here that there is a little alligator and we had fun looking for him. A nice man said he had seen him earlier but we never did...

The gift shop is great and the food area is nice too. Staff are friendly and helpful. I am never bugged by the convention-goers; just feel sorry for them that some of their time is spent in meetings! Overall, this is a lovely place that doesn't break your budget. A good value. Have fun!

We stayed there twice last year and liked it a lot! We liked having a room in Casitas near the parking lot so it was easy in/out to our vehicle. I also used the bus system a couple of times and it worked out great. Have a fun time!

Enjoyed reading these replys, I'm trying to decide if we should stay at Coronado Springs in march....I don't know anything about the moderate hotels and am relying on this board for help.

you'll love it! It's our favorite moderate resort. In fact, we've been staying at Deluxe resorts since 1999 and I'll have to say that if I had to pick a moderate, I would pick CS. It's beautiful - and the pool is unique. They have a great food court and full-service restaurant, Maya Grille. I think it's the most "deluxe" of the moderate resorts.

We had a very nice stay at CS last August. We were in Casitas 4 which was a pleasant 5 min walk along the lake to the Pepper Mkt. and across the parking lot from bus stop 2: the first stop to load and unload which was nice.

For good pictures and descriptions go to the FAQ thread listed at the top of the message board. There will be links to others' websites with pictures, too.

Have a great trip!:sunny:

Thank you everyone! These comments are all so encouraging! YAY!
