Just booked another trip, but for the first time in 5 trips since 2013 (OKW) we won't be staying at The Fort. Just can't justify the extra $900 for a Cabin for just myself and my daughter this trip. I booked Coronado Springs for late August. As long as the ADR God's are in our favor we will be visiting The Fort for The Hoop one night.

Coranado is a beautiful resort. We’ve fallen in love with the new Gran Destino tower there and have stayed several times this year.

I'll have to have a word with the DIS Camping Sargeant-At-Arms regarding your status, Jim, given this information. With the economics of your decision (which are understandable), I might be able to get you off with just a probationary period.

If any one has some pull it's you Ed.

Good news is not only was I able to get a res at the HDDR, it's for 10 people, so it won't be a Fortless trip. I have a friend who's checking in to the Poly with another friend a few days after me so my ADR date was before theirs and I was able to snag it for all of us.

So although not at the Fort we still managed to have a great trip last month. We actually got to visit The Fort twice. On arrival day DD and myself took the bus to MK and boat to FW for dinner at P&J's take out. On our final night we had dinner at the Hoop with 8 other friends who happened to be at WDW the same time as us.

Now that it will be just DD and myself since my wife has passed I can't see us staying at Fort every trip unless we happen to go with others that need the space and we want to stay near them. But we will try and get over once or twice a trip for the Hoop and P&J's as we still consider it Home.

Being frugal is a good thing since it often allows for additional time for FUN. We've gone even further to the dark side by giving up on DCL and cruising more often in greater luxury by going elsewhere. Nice reading that a *great trip* was had.

Sorry to hear about your wife, Jim. But keep building those memories with your daughter. Ed

how was the Hoop, Jim?

It has been a very long time since we went and it wasn't open when we were there in January. I haven't seen many reviews since it reopened with a slightly different dinner, show and audio/visual.

I'm sorry to hear of your wife.

Thanks Ed. We are def building those memories. Last year we did 2 trip to WDW. We also did a 2500 mi road trip from Boston to NYC, Pitt, Canton, OH, Cedar Point, Columbus, Detroit, and Cleveland back to Boston that included 2 MLS soccer matches, 3 MLB baseball games, Pro Football HOF, Cedar Point amusement park, Columbus Zoo, and the RnR HOF. Then this past April we did the Bos to Bermuda cruise and of course just got back from WDW. My wife loved to travel so I am instilling that in my daughter.

Thanks Teambur.

The Hoop was great. The dinner seemed the same, the usual Chix/Ribs, cowboy beans, salad, cornbread, strawberry shortcake (of course) etc. The show has taken the Indian out, Six Bit's did a skit with the banjo player which was good. Most of it was still the same with the States song, birthdays, anniversaries and members of the audience being brought on stage at the end.

We haven't done DCL yet but its on the list. This past April we did NCL again on the Bos to Bermuda cruise and what we saved not getting a cabin was almost 1/3 of what the cost of the cruise was.

Jim, very sorry for your loss. Keep building those memories with DD. Hopefully we can all meet up somewhere in the future

I’m sorry for your loss, Jim. It sounds like you and DD had a lovely time at FW. I hope you also enjoyed your stay at CSR.

Thanks Tigger. Hopefully we can. I know we will stay at the Fort again at some point.

Thanks Lehuaann. We love The Fort and we did enjoy CSR and will probably stay there again.

No worries, we all travel the best way we can. At this point we only been taking the RV to FW every other year and stay in a different resort the opposite year. This past summer was AKL Kidani 1BR (We are DVC members) and July 2023 is FW. Enjoy your trip!!
