Okay - Please don't yell - I know that many of you would never attempt this - BUT - is there anyone out there that has walked to DL from Embassy Suites South hotel or somewhere close to this resort...........

Just curious - Have heard two very opposite opinions on this..... Thanks!!!!

OMG..... YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND!!!

J/K... If ya wanna walk walk... Don't let others tell you what you can/can't or should/shouldn't do! It's not that far of a walk when you compare it to the miles you will be walking while you are in the park! :thumbsup2

I mapped it out and it is approx. 1.5 miles if you are talking about the one at 11767 Harbor. Its farther than I would like to walk with a full day at DL, but by no means impossible. My 8 and 10 year olds run farther than that twice a week at school.

Is that the one in Garden Grove? If it is, my sister (PinkBudgie) walked it last summer. They had a day they weren't at the parks so they walked around and ended up walking all the way over to DTD, I believe. Maybe she'll see this thread and post her experience - assuming that's the same embassy suites they stayed at.

Yep - it is the one in Garden Grove - Thanks to you all for posting - :)

A mile and a half isn't too bad for us at least maybe the trip to the parks - We have the ART passes - so worst case scenario - We ride home - guess it gives us an option to walk at least. ;)

Both our kids are relatively older - 10 and 15 - ten year old ran a 6.2 mile run last spring (Bellin Run) so she is probably in wayyyyyy better shape then me.....

Thanks again....

Yep, I walked it. :cool1: Like my sister said, we did it on our black out day from the parks. We just looked around DTD. We also walked over to the shopping center on the way back and ate lunch at the Cheesecake factory. It isn't far at all if you don't have to walk all day in the parks. Mornings wouldn't be bad walking over but coming home in the evening after a long day in the park would not be fun.

Maybe walk there...but really, I am POOPED at the end of the night I get tired walking out the the ART stop (when we stay off site)...and heck I have done marathon's and half's! Heck, give it a try!

DH walked back to Hampton Inn next door twice in December since the two little ones were asleep in the stroller. I rode art with the two big girls. He beat us back to the hotel the first time because we had to wait for the next bus. The other time we only beat him by less than 10 minutes, and he stopped by the minimart.

We walked from Hojos to Garden Grove - in our opinion it is definitely not too far to work from Embassy Suites to DL. I guess if you try on the first day and discover it is too far for you, you can catch the ART or something back.

:goodvibes

Depends on how you walk, it is walkable and you have ART as a back-up!
Doable, I do not mind a 1/2 mile or so, but................

I agree-it would be pretty exhausting in the evening. Not bad in the morning, but I'd be very impatient about just wanting to get there and not taking the time for the walk. We've stayed there twice and the ART has been fine-with all the walking you do in the parks I wouldn't add this on but that's just me. In April I walked from the Convention Center to DLR and it took a while but wasn't bad, it's not too far from the Embassy. So sure, it's doable but kind of a pain when you just want to get there.

My friends did it once, and vowed never to do it again. They said it wasn't "that" bad going but coming home was killer.

Question: How much would it cost to take a cab from Embassy Suites to the parks? It isn't that far, has anyone ever done it?
