Has anyone ever tried to put 5 in a room at a value resort? I have 3 small children and they would fit in one bed. Is this possible to do for a couple of nights before we move to BC for the rest of our trip?

Thanks!

There is no way on earth, that 3 children, even small children can fit in those small beds at the value resorts...wow...

If one of your three children is under the age of three, it is not a problem. If they are all over three years old, you will not be able to book a single room at a value resort. Have you thought about staying at PO-Riverside? They have rooms that will fit five.

If it was allowed and it was only for one night, I would say why not but a few nights squeezing 5 people in a value is terrifying. Better off doing a moderate.

if one of them can fit in a crib do it that way and order a crib.

I did it a number of times. But when they got to be 14, 12 and 8 we went to the moderate resorts - POFQ and POR.

yea go for it...they will manage..i mean heck one might end up at the end of the bed..you know how kids sleep anyways...all over the place...if it doesnt work well...split em up...one or two with you and the other with your spouse.....it can work..

There is also room on the floor between the beds or by the door (at ASMO anyway) for a pallet. Our kids, ds10 and dd8 are too old to sleep in the same bed. They just took turns sleeping on a pallet. I packed an extra blanket in a suitcase and they brought us more bedding no problem.

You will be really cramped in there, but depends on your kids ages. If it's only for 2 nights, you might be alright, but I wouldn't do anymore than that.Don't forget about all that luggage and carry-ons. Our family of 5 did connecting rooms at a value instead of one room at a mod. which was nice. Kids had their own room, we were able to stay up later without disturbing them when they went to bed. Plus 2 bathrooms came in handy.

it's not like they're sleeping in dresser drawers. my wife and I sleep fine in a value bed. and our 11 year old daughter takes friends with her all the time and they sleep in the same bed. roll them sideways. :D

"Roll them sideways", I feel stupid, I would have never thought of that. The only problem I can see is that if you plan on doing Magic Hours in the evening you will be one room key short.

Aside from being against the rules which I am sure you realize, I personally would not stay more than 1 night in those cramped conditions. The value resorts are 260sq ft. and the beds are doubles. When you open the door to your room you swing it right past the edge of your first bed. I do not recall there being much space on the floor between beds to put anyone when I was at ASsp a few years ago when we stayed there for a sports competition at wide world of sports. How old are your kids? Maybe if they were toddlers it might not seem so cramped.

The deluxe resort rooms (like BC where you are going afterwards) in the Epcot area have 390+ sq.ft., queen size beds, a 60in daybed and room on the floor as well. You will certainly see and feel the difference.

Well the first time we stayed at Pop there was seven of us, (two rooms) we put the children in the second room to watch the Disney Channel while we watched regular TV. When we went to check on them all five were on one bed and they all had fallen asleep, we left them where they were. Ages 10-4. Where they crowd YES ::yes:: did they care NO. They looked like pretzels. During the night the oldest woke then moved to the other bed, but that still left four on one bed.

Kids can sleep anywhere...

I have to agree here. I think the beds there are doubles, right? VERY small. DH and I tried sleeping together the first night, but that was the end of that..LOL!

OK, don't shoot me either, as I am not telling this woman to get this ONE room for her family of five. But, IF you do, ask for TWO bed rails. This will help keep them on the HIGH bed, since there isn't much room on it to begin with.

Go for it! Kids dont care! I dont get changing hotels. Packing everything up and luggin it to another place...Ugh! I like to set everything up and stay.

I agree that they will be fine. My sister has slept with 5 in ASMO and her kids were older (teens). They took turns with the beds. They had a great time. For my sister and her family, even 2 rooms at a value was more than she wanted to spend. I say give it a try. I agree with the bed rails. My DD even before she was 2 didn't sleep in a crib any longer so we had 3 in a bed. Those bed rails made me sleep better knowing that if someone rolled over they wouldn't fall off the bed!

Also a friend of mine stays at ASMO twice a year and each trip is for 11 or so nights. She squeezes...get this...7 people in 1 room. I couldn't even imagine! The funny thing is, she is quite well off. She could afford to stay probably anywhere on site. She just chooses to do this and has been for many years. By the way, she still also uses the old mugs from their first stay at AS many, many years ago.

It may be against the "rules" but that is your decision to make. I don't know anyone who had never broken a rule before! :D

As far as the room key issue, we never carry all our keys with us. It just seems stupid to lug around 5 cards when we only needed 1. We have never been asked to show our room keys.

Your room key is now your park ticket, so if you don't have your park ticket, how do you get into the parks? I think the days of 'squeezing' extra people into rooms is over, unless you don't want to go to the parks, because of the room key/tickets and the biometric scans with all tickets.

If you don't buy a pkg, then no your tics are not on your room key. If you purchase you tics ahead of time, online or at the disneystore, they aren't on your room key. They are only on your room key if you purchase them at the resort or you purchase them in the myw pkg!
