Please check your crystal ball on BCV

I know this is sheer speculation, but in doing my long-range vacation planning, and trying to maximize my BVC add-on, in your opinion, which would be harder to book (and therefore need the 11 vs. 7 month window): BCV studio for 3 weeknights and 2 weekend nights the first of October, or BCV 1 bedroom for 5 weeknights in early June?? Speculate away! Thanks

I think it would be easier to get the reservation for October. In June you are already within the 7 month window and many schools across the country are already on vacation. In October, even though you are in the 7 month window, you may still get a room because as more points get sold, more units get turned over to DVC from the developer.

Thanks, but I am actually thinking ahead to October 2004 and June 2005--I think what I am trying to do is talk myself into buying just a few more points at BCV.

You will be able to do either of those with the 11 month window. Why did you mention the 7 month window? Do you have points at another resort?

My home resort is OKW and I had no problem booking 1 bdroom at BCV for this June 22-26 at the 7 month time. I really didn't think I would get it but it was no problem.

I would think they're about equal though the June time might be a little harder. I would doubt you'd have any problems for either at the 7 month window. One point is that you can make the June reservations earlier than the October. What you could do is make the June with the BCV points then when the 7 month window opens you could see if it's still available and then make it with the none Home resort points then use the freed up points to make the Oct reservation. What you've done legally is use the 11 month window for both reservations. If the June time is sold out and you can't do what I propose then you know you made the correct decision anyway.

Happy Birthday Cat: Yes, the bulk of my points are at HH. I have an add-on at BCV and am trying to maximize my BVC 11 month booking. I don't have enough points (even with banking and borrowing) to book the Oct. and June trip. That is why I mentioned the 11 and 7 month windows.
I guess another alternative is to book HH that June week, and do an exchange. I would prefer to do it on my own though. Thanks.

My crystal ball warms up about as slow as my computer! But I suspect it will be tougher in June. Schools are closed and families are heading to Disney World as a group. By October, it is cooler and schools are back in session, reducing the number of families that can get away. Again, a pure guess on my part.
