I used to be a fairly frequent flyer, as a child, I was an "every other weekend" girl from SDO to LAX, then twice a year from BOS to LAX. I also did some business travel as an adult, but I haven't flown since before 9/11.
I have purchased some travel sizes of essentials under 3 oz (though one is 3.2, 95 ml - anyone know if that is OK?) and am packing all the regular sizes. My laptop is in a sleeve and I know I have to pull it out. I will have the children (and DH
) prepared to easily remove their shoes.
I'm most concerned about two things, my small nail scissors and my husband's electric toothbrush. According to the TSA site, the nail scissors are OK as a carry on (less than 4" in total). Mine have a slightly curved blade and TSA says straight. Should I put them in a checked bag? I don't see anything about electric toothbrushes, but DH would be awfully upset to have it taken. I can bring a manual extra and pack the electric, if it is best.
I really want the check in experience to go smoothly. We are first flight out in the morning. {sleepy}
Anything else I should be concerned about?
