Please bring back the main street bakery!!!!

I demand a decent cup of coffee!!!! (I get what you are saying and it would have been nice to see the cinnamon rolls stay but for everyone who wants one thing, someone else wants another. Personally, I'm thrilled for Starbucks)
I don't understand. You state you want a decent cup of coffee and you are thrilled for Starbucks. They don't sell good coffee at Starbucks. (but what they sell is better than Nescafé.)

Personally, I am THRILLED they have Starbucks in the Kingdom, now! :coffee:

I love me a PSL & a GL, but this is also coming from a girl who lives on an island with NO REAL STARBUCKS. :sad2:

Now THAT is a travesty :crazy2:

They don't sell anything "Disney" until after 11. The artisan breakfast sandwiches are the same pre made microwave sandwiches you get at your local Starbucks. The worse part of losing the bakery is the smell. Just walking down Main Street and smelling the delicious pastries and treats is gone. Yes, it was a smell Disney pushed out onto the street but its still no longer there.

It was there the last week of October when we were there. Both days. :confused3

Yes, the smell was still there last week.

It's funny how the human mind works...

The smell is still there, but you can't smell it because all you can think about is how the pastries that "make" the smell are gone.

What a travesty of justice! Was hoping to see some of my old favorites in there but alas I was disappointed. I demand cinnamon buns! I demand huge chocolate muffins! I demand giant chipwhiches! Mickey can you hear me?! Aren't there enough Starbucks in the world!

I back you totally!:thumbsup2

Starbucks is an improvement to decent from Nescafe. They did not ask for a good cup of coffee.

Happy dance for Starbucks on main street.

I do wish they would have keep bakery cases of non Starbucks bake goods.

Lets be truthful Starbucks is great at making high calorie yummy coffee drinks their baked goods aren't as good as main street bakery where.

Disney is smart they just need to hear more complaints about the bakery being gone, maybe they will ship in some yummy baked goods from boardwalk bakery.

I personally do not care for the bitter/burnt taste of Starbucks...it makes my stomach ache. I didn't mind the other coffee in WDW. At least it didn't give me acid reflux like Starbucks !

Oh great. Now people are resurrecting the old "Walt is spinning in his grave" controversies. :stir:

I fully expect to see a napkin thread next or maybe an alcohol at BOG thread.:lmao:

And I'm glad Starbucks is there..I never was all that impressed with MSB to begin with. It was cute but not worth all the angst. So, people have to walk a little bit more for a mediocre cinnamon bun- so what?

1) People wanted Starbucks.
2) For what reason I do not know.
3) In this this case, they got their Starbucks.
4) And ruined it for the rest of us who liked the old bakery goods.

Because there is a crowd out there who actually like Starbucks maybe?

The bakery goods were never baked in the Main Street Bakery. They were baked offsite and shipped in. As such, they are still available, but in different locations.

You may find them at Big Top Treats, or at the Boardwalk bakery. You've just got to look!

All the Starbuck's lovers did was move your treats elsewhere.

Why not ask them to put some of the old baked goods back in that location? You can't seriously want the old coffee back.

Personally, I am happy about this change because I love Starbucks. I don't drink coffee but I'm already dreaming about getting my chai latte and pumpkin scone (please have these!) I do sympathize with those who liked some of the old offerings though and would think it nice if they still offered those.

This topic has been hashed to death but I just wanted to add my two cents. I'll just add that coffee drinkers tell me that the Starbucks blonde roast is quite mild and pleasant and has none of the "burnt" flavor of other brews.

Do they still pump the fresh baked aroma into Main Street? I always thought that it was so funny that they did that.

ETA: I just saw that they don't now. That would seem like a simple fix.

We tried the cinnamon buns at Gastons and they are not the same. They have maple frosting and they are dry--not warm and gooey!! :(

That's on Disney then. They could still use the same product if they wished to and the puzzling aspect is why they don't. :confused3

What a bunch of unhappy "it ain't broke, so don't improve it" anti-progress grumps.

#sarcasm. ;)

Does anyone happen to know if the Starbucks on Main Street accepts Starbucks gift cards, Disney gift cards, or both?
I know our Barnes & Noble book store has a Starbucks in it, but does not accept SB gift cards.
I normally don't like SB, but some how manage to accumulate a lot of SB gift cards around christmas, since I'm a teacher, kids always go for starbucks since there is one by the school (even though I always get my coffee at home or Dunkin). Anything to save some $$ while at the world.
