I just received some terribly distressing news.. Not exactly the way I expected our best, most heart-warming C'mas weekend since my DH passed away to end..

I'm very distraught - so I likely won't make much sense.. I just learned that my brother (in Florida) has an extremely rare form of cancer in the lymph nodes behind his left eye - and is already in the process of receiving a series of 20 chemo treatments.. This is why he didn't come home for the holidays - and why I didn't hear from him yesterday..

I have no other details - except that we have known for quite some time that he has spots in his lungs from asbestosis and mesotheliomia.. I don't know if this is something that has spread - something new - and I'm terrified because it's so close to his brain.. I'm trying not to read the "last chapter of the book first", but I'm afraid for him.. Thank God he has the most wonderful, smart, GF in the world living with him to oversee things..

If you could spare a prayer - or a good thought - for my brother, I would really appreciate it.. I already lost my younger brother in 2006 in a tragic accident - I don't want to lose my "big brother" too..

When I find out anything further, I'll pop back in..
