Playhouse Disney on Disney Channel

Before you freak out too much...Disney Channel has always screwed with the lineup over the summer in order to make room for regular Disney Channel starting earlier for school-age kids. Playhouse Disney lasts longer when kids are in school. I would wait and see what happens around September. We're not that hot on the new shows either but I bet old favorites will come back in the fall.

The Doodlebops are just too disturbing :sad2:

My kids have been driving me nuts with wanting to watch the Bear in the Big Blue House Christmas tape over and over again. Thankfully we didn't get rid of our Bear videos yet!

Another Doodlebops hater here... its a terrible show. I'm really surprised that Disney would air such a horrible show - the quality seems to be way below Disney's standards.

the Koala Brothers are still on

They are on the Eastern time zone Disney, not the Western which is what we watch. We do have both, but that isn't the point.

Ya know, DD said the other day that Stanley used to be 2 episodes and now there's only one. I thought maybe she missed the other but has it really been shortened to one? I don't let my kids watch the doodlebops. There's something wrong there and I can't put my finger on it so we'll stay away.

Yes, it was 2 and now is one because of Charlie and Lola.

It's good to know I am not the only one that thinks the new shows are bad. At least on the weekend, everything is the same. I will have to see what other stations have to offer. We don't get noggin.

I cannot stand the Doodlebops, although DD seems to think they're ok. We've seen Koala Brothers on in the morning around 7:30, 8ish. Before daycare, DD will watch Book of Pooh and New Adventures of Pooh. But now she watches more of Noggin. I love Clay, Shanna's show, Jojo and adore Stanley (can never get the theme song out of my head when I hear it). Those are the shows I think DD enjoys the most. But like I said, she watches less of Disney channel now.

What is going on with their programming???

I always liked PB&J Otter. Bring it back, please.

also stopped watching disney
bear, pj and otter are never on anymore my son loved them
now hes all about nick

I received a reply back from my e-mail that it has been forwarded on to the appropriate person.

So glad to hear I am not the only one not liking the changes. I guess there is a good thing from all this, less TV time. Hopefully there will be better shows/line-up during the dreaded winter months.

Not a fan of Doodlebops or Charlie and Lola. I did notice (after pain and suffering of watching them with my 19mo old) that both of them are from a Canadian production company. (C&L was originally an English production.) I hope their contract does not include more shows. I don't know if I can stand much more. Please bring back the Big Blue House!

Can't we go way back to the 80's shows? My favorites as a child were Dumbo's Circus, Welcome to Pooh Corner, You & Me Kid, Mousercise, Kids. Inc, Mouseterpiece Theater, Donald Duck Presents, etc. etc. etc...

And does anyone but me remember a Disney movie called "Lots of Luck"? Annette Funicello was in it and I think Martin Mull. That was from when we first got the Disney Channel.

Now those were the good old days! I was only like six when all of the above was on, and I remember it all so well.

Sorry to go a little off topic!

My DD won't watch it anymore, either. Granted she is a little older now (5), but she still loves the "old" shows, too. She had me put in the Halloween tape I made that has Blue, PB&J otter, Stanley & Out of the Box the other night!! Now she only watches for the moves (she is sooooo looking forward to Halloween Town coming on again!!! :wizard: ).

Now she watches ToonDisney for Recess, Weekenders & House of Mouse. She also watches Noggin & Nick Jr. She still loves Blues Clues, Dora, Little Bear, Franklin, 64 Zoo Lane.

I can see summer mornings will be interesting without our morning favorites. I guess we'll have to watch the local news instead :rotfl:

My kids are older (8 and 10) so they would never admit to watching Playhouse Disney.

But just last year or the year before, all of us would watch Stanley and PB & J Otter. Loved PB & J!

We were never huge Bear in the Big Blue House fans, but it was cute. It was very low key.

Kim Possible is going? My DD will hate that. She is a Kim Possible fan.

My son is a HUGE Bear fan, and he's interested in Breakfast with Bear for about 10 minutes out of an hour. They have the exact same three or four songs every day, so it drives me nuts. At least they still run the old show on the weekends to I can record them for a bit of a change.
