Plato's Closet

Has anyone here ever taken in any clothes to Plato's Closet to sell? If so, was it worth it? I have several trendy items of clothing & bags, shoes, that I've never worn or worn once recently & can't return. Just wondering if it's a rip-off or a decent setup. Ebay just seems like too much trouble for these few items.

I've sold stuff to their sister store, Once Upon a Child. They paid about what I'd expect to get at a yard sale. They give you half of what they expect to sell the item for. I did browse at Plato's Closet and thought they were quite a bit higher than OUAC.
Assuming it works the same, they'll look at your stuff and tell you what they'll buy and give you a total, then you accept or not. Can't hurt to ask, but I bet you'd do better on eBay if it's worth the trouble.
I know several people who think they pay a little higher if they know you're spending it right back.

I have sold some stuff there and I was very happy with the one near my house. One reason is I bought a pair of capris there, I was not able to return them within the required time, so I threw them in the bag I was taken there to sell. I had 2 bags, in one all the clothes had not been worn my kids just didn't wear them, and in the other bag the clothes were worn. I took them in they took some of the worn stuff, didn't take any of the new stuff and did not take the capris that I had bought from there 10 days earlier. The reason they gave for not taking the stuff was because it was worn, faded and stained. HUH. I said what is wrong with this bag pointing to the bag with the new clothes, she said I just told you. I pulled out the capris and told her I just bought them there, she said you didn't buy these here. So needless to say I was disappointed with them, and I won't go back to that one, I will try another one though to see how they are. I don't want to scare you off from going just showing my experience and that you made need to try a couple if it doesn't work out the 1st time.
