On one of our cruises years ago, we were gold and they offered a galley tour. I remember the Crew Member stating they are usually for platinum but they had openings. I have heard through the grapevine that if you check with guest services on longer cruises...sometimes they offer behind the scenes tours for platinum cruisers. Does anyone have experience with this? I have heard they are not advertised. We will be on a 7 night later this year and would love another galley tour or something similar.

I'm not aware of any behind the scenes tours, except the galley tour. And that's not on all cruises. But, if offered, anyone can take it. They are not advertised, but if you go to Guest Services and ask about them, they start an interest list. If enough people are interested, and there's time to schedule it, they will do so.

The Platinum perks no longer include the various behind scenes tours they once did.

We did a galley tour and a backstage tour on the 2014 WBTA. We are silver. I don't remember if they were mentioned in the Navigator or if I just asked but I had tickets days before they took place. I have only seen reference to the theater tour on the longer repo cruises.

I think the galley tour was mentioned on the day but had already filled up by then. The Theatre tour was not offered. On last years WBTA 2015 they didn't advertise either you just had to ask at Guest Services. I just happened to ask the one day and got one of the last tickets for the Theatre show.

OK I am on the Magic now, and I think the rumour mill is getting things slightly wrong- yet again, where half information is posted.

Today Platinum and Gold were invited to a meeting in the WD Theatre.

Firstly Clayton and the Captain spoke. Clayton was awarded a PIN as this cruise he has been with DCL ten years.

Then a video from Karl on the Wonder upgrade, showing us the new restaurant photos, the new spa, the upgraded kids pool area, and new itineraries coming up.

Then we had two scenes from the refreshed Twice charmed.

Now they brought all the crew on stage and showed " behind the scenes," what occurs between sets, the lifts changing scenery, the upgraded gates and Columns at the start in the set, new golden gates, etc and how it goes downstairs and pyrotechnics.

Two scenes were sung one was because if the shoe and the added new song about it fitting.

Technical crew explained their jobs, a bit like the Indiana Jones adventure at Disney studios.

Last year we had a backstage behind the scenes tour, but that's rare.

Cruise by cruise ship by ship it's different, outs lasted this morning from 10.45 ( queuing at 10.15 with free drinks) and ended about noon. By invite only.

We also got one free Palo meal either brunch or dinner . 10% off in stores, ( watch prices some Purfume marked up wrong, ) two free photos with a disk purchase. And special bingo cards, with the bag gift and two coffee tumblers.

Free Sparkling wine bottle or fruit bowl from room service.
