For them to plan something 5 months out. I know I plan things out much further than most people, but I would think most people plan their vacations out much further than 5 months.

We're going to be on DCL May 22-29.....that we've had planned since this time last year. I tried to talking my DH into changing, but he refuses. After checking cruise prices, even to move our cruise to the following week, so that we could participate would end up costling us $1000 extra just for the cruise.

Some friends and I would love to do this, but there are two sticking points. One is we are annual passholders. If the passes were parkhoppers (good forever) it wouldn't be a problem. We'd go and save the passes for future trips for friends who don't have AP's. The second point is there is no cancellation feature. My friend's husband would love to go but won't know until about a month out if he'll be in the middle of a job (and then not able to go).

We were talking about an April/May trip so this would have been great.

Oh, well....

Got ours in the mail today, too. We'll be there mid-May and I don't see how we can stick around to go this. It doesn't make any sense for us to go home and come back again. The timing is just wrong.

We got our invite in the mail today too. While I really do like the idea of a "member homecoming" I don't like how you must purchase the whole "homecoming" to attend. We too are AP holders so park hoppers that cannot be used at a future date is a waste of money for us. And although all three events sound fun, I know with a little one in tow we could not attend all three even if we were going. I would have appreciated a ticket option of buying into one or two events only.

I am sooo jealous of anyone who will be able to attend. We are out of points since we have scheduled a June trip for DH's extended family. It sounds like lots of fun :hyper:

Great Poll!

To me, it comes down to paying fro admission twice. AP vs. Park Hoppers. We also would our then 26mo ds with us. 3 events would be quite difficult for him. My dw and I did discuss it, and were ready to change out Sept (Labor Day plans) and go for this event. But it just does not make sense cash wise.

We just happened to have a trip planned for then but we'll be leaving on May 27 so wouldn't be able to attend the last day's events. Because of leaving early, the fact that there will be 4 of us, that we never go to the theme parks two days in a row, and that we really like to spend a lot of time relaxing around SAB, we're not going to do the MH. It sounds like a lot of fun and we'd like to attend either the MK or Epcot party but we're not paying almost $1200 because I know we'll miss our usual relaxed vacation.

Well they lowered the price by $50 if you don't need admission.

Thanks TNRobin for posting!

Well, we can't make it due to scheduling conflicts, but have to agree that it seems a little overpriced for what they are offering. Seems they should have reduced the price by at least $100 to cover two days of park admissions instead of the $50. Looks like a lot for what I see as two e-tickets and party at SSR!

I think I might surprise my wife with a romantic trip for 2 and let dvc make us feel like vips's

I'm not surprised by the response of some posters because they are the same posters who kept putting down the DVC Member Cruise. Yes it was a few more points than a normal 4 day cruise in that same time period, but DVC made it worth it. There was a special feeling during the whole cruise. Banners welcoming us, entertainment, special desserts and lots of surprises. We got a gift every night (mesh bag, t-shirts, limited edition teapot). Most importantly we got to meet and hang with other DVC members and it was a great time. We are seriously thinking of switching our early May days to try and make this (even though it means changing some other plans).

We're giving this serious consideration.

It's so hard for the family to travel together at this point in our lives, but these dates could work.

If they do half of what they did for those of us who went on the Member Cruise, it should be amazing. :D :D :D

They all think we are fools with such lavish pricing for these mediocre events. I am getting more and more exasperated with DVC as each month passes. I might be selling in the new year I am so disgusted. Oh well, for those who attend enjoy I will definitely not attend.

I have mixed feelings. I agree it's overpriced since we have APs, but I have to admit I probably would've paid it if it had been at almost any other time of year. It sounds wonderful. Unfortunately, those are the last 3 days of school for DD. We've taken her out in the past, but I would really hate for her to miss all the end of the year activities. Plus, we already have our points allocated for this use year.

I would not be so fast to assume it will be a mediocre event. I have been to quite a few Disney special events and they have always been far from mediocre!

For the pricing it would have to be truly magical for me to feel that it is not mediocre in nature as opposed to Disney magic which each day of my life seems to prove it does not exist.

I think it would be fun..I sent in my Email to member services hoping to get a room..hopefully they will have some left on Monday when they open up again. If they do...I am going!...now I just have to talk someone into going with me (my wife has had her full of WDW for awhile:)
