Plans for the first day

If you mean first day as in the day that you fly, we do nothing. Get off the plane, find our accommodation and just chill.

If you mean the day after, the first full day, then it's the best day to get up early for rope drop, which will also help with jet lag.

Having that long sleep (we won't last until 10pm on the day we arrive!) then being up early due to your body clock means defeating jet lag at the start of the holiday is easy, bed early, up early, park early, get lots done, you'll be in bed usual time that night, jet lag defeated!

It's harder on the way back with jet lag!

On our first full day we're having breakfast in CRT, heading to MK for rope drop, getting some pics of our first day first, then a day in MK, dinner at Coral Reef in Epcot :D

We're always up early due to time difference, so we go to Walmart early to get food and drink for the villa, then Seaworld for opening time, we find Seaworld a more gentle opening to the holiday than some other parks!

Only one place to go on your first day..................... The Magic Kindom.

"Hit the ground running and never stop" thats our moto.

And those that fall behind get left behind. Cruel but fair.

We have seven year old twins and we have been training them for weeks to get fit.

We've explaned to them that this is a war and the best strategy is attack, attack, attack!!!! And never surrender.

After all you have pletty of time to recover when you get back to Blighty.:thumbsup2:

I love this! Go you! Go your 7 year olds!

We almost always have breakfast at Denny's then it's Petting Farm, Walmart, Publix and Target. Gotta get the supplies of Twizzlers in!!!

2nd day is usually park day for us.

Jetlag on return actually worked in my favour with DS 2 sleeping in til 12.30, bliss

Ours is going to be awful! I think we're going to have to try to gently go back to UK time in the last few days, we get back only 2-3 days before the kids go back to school after our two week half term! :S Back Friday lunch time, school on Monday! :O

PMA that’s what's required on a trip to Disney World.
Stay focused and in the Zone. Never show fear, NEVER let the Parks get the upper hand.
And if you get a tad fatigued sit down for a min. There are plenty of benches kicking about the place.
On our first trip we tried the softly, softly, easy day approach. What a waste of a day.
Never, never, never, again.
Eyes front and best foot forward and once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; Or close the wall up with our English dead .
And if you have small children take a "Stroller" When they get tried they’ll sleep.
Sorry but if you don't like walking, standing in line, hot sun, being sweaty, early mornings, late nights
Then I suggest you give Disney a miss.
Or save your money and don’t bother with the Theme Parks.
I don’t what to sound like some mentally deranged Regimental Sargent Major but if you want to see half of the things on offer you have to “keep moving”
Why spend all that money and not hit the Parks 24-7. That why we go isn’t it?
I know you spend 15 hours travelling but you get 5 hours back, us it!!!!!!!
When you get to your Hotel…………………. Go to bed like good little children.
At least that way you awake reasonable refreshed for the first day of your new campaign
Where's That Dunkirk spirit, never say die attitude of us Brits.
Leave the moaning to the Yanks and just get on with it. CHARGE!!!!!!!!!
Mind you, many years ago I took the Mother-in-law. The last words she said to me as we dropped her off at home were.
“I’ve had a lovely time, and please don’t take this the wrong way. But I will never go on holiday with you again………………….. It’s just too exhausting I need a holiday to get over this one”
And that’s what a Disney trip is if you want to get the best out of it. It’s not for the faint hearted.
We all watch the adverts on TV and get suckered in by them. Disney is not some fairy tale dream world………….
It’s a WAR and you must look upon it as such, otherwise you’ll miss out on so much.
Each Park must be reconnoitred, assaulted, and then conquered, before you move on to the next one.
Planning is the key. Too much planning and your strategy becomes inflexible. Too little and you don’t stand a chance. You might as well run up the white flag and surrender before a shots been fired.
Sorry I’m rabbling. And I don’t want to teach anyone how to suck eggs. But please don’t go with the attitude of a wet lettuce, go with the attitude of the hunter. Stay sharp, keep calm, keep your fast pass close and you Disney passes closer. But above all ENJOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
:thumbsup2

Just read this reply of yours now...:rotfl: You make me laugh but also you have just given me a new lease of life to attack those parks. We always attack anyway but maybe not in quite the same GO GO GO way:) Off to find my back pack and my fatigues and gonna ditch my flip flops and shorts:rolleyes:

11. My good you need a Major General not a lowly SRM to keep that sort of numbers in check.

Most I’ve ever had to command is 6.

11 that’s some going.

But I suppose you’ll lose a few on route to Disney. And then there’s bound to be the odd deserter so by the time you get to your hotel the racks should have thinned out a little.

“Bugger wish I could spell”

We go last week in September for two week. Should be Disney’d out for a year or two by then.

Have you ever been on a Disney cruise? We have a 4 day one booked this time. If so Any advice. Would ask our fellow American allies but I don’t like.

My grandmother when out with an American during the war. Well granddad use to say she did.

Something about knickers, Yank and Down if memory serves me.

Previous years we have been awake early, so headed off to AK as it opens early, and closes early too. With dinner at Rainforest!

This is my plan too for our first day in October 2012. We'll be ip early due to time difference and as AK supposed to ne quiet on this day we will head there. I have most of our days planned so far. As MK only has Light Parade and fireworks on certain days I have to plan when we go. Fantasmic is booked so have to go to studios on that day. Also got Discovery Cove booked. Oldest daughter has a gig booked at House of Blue. And have a night at Hard Rock Hotel booked for rock mad daughters. With these all booked I have to plan otherwise we'll run out of time. Plus it is fun planning.
