Planning Weddings for those Not-yet Engaged!

Well, I just got booked to the Bibiddi Bobiddi Bootique on Dec. 14th! I'm so excited to get turned into a princess! :D

From another thread....thought of this!!!! -

What song do you want to walk away to as Husband/Wife
and
what do you want your father daughter dance to be to??

What other songs??

I dont know about the husband/wife one....but
I think I want "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts as the Father/Daughter dance...

I won't have a father/daughter dance, since my father will most probably not be present. I do however want a dance with my brother.
As for the first song I want to walk away to with my husband...I have no idea, lol. I have WAY too many songs I want to use for my wedding.

well we didn't do dancing at our reception, cause we are not dancers at all..:lmao: but our song down the aisle as husband and wife was "Love Song" by the Cure!!! we love it and it is only appropriate since Robert Smith(lead singer/song writer for the cure) wrote it for his wife for their wedding:love:

OOh. I just ordered my bridesmaid dress for one of my best friend's wedding!! She's getting married in march and we all got to pick out our own dress, our only stipulations were: Alfred Angelo, floor length, and in the color spice!
So here's mine!:

btw...I'm really hoping to lose at least 30 more pounds before the wedding! I've lost 20 already and I keep feeling like her wedding is a good goal to look forward to..so I hope to have 40-50 pounds gone by that time!!

Ok so
The wedding party will walk down to...tbd..
My cutesy flowergirls and I will walk down to "Bless the broken road", Rascal Flatts.

When we light the Unity Candle & start the sand ceremony
My BFF and my other BFFs husband are going to sing "its your love"
and then during the SC some sort of familyish song will play.

When we walk down as husband and wife...still undecided.

Our first dance song. there are too many to choose from but here is a list.
I knew i loved you- Savage Garden
At Last - Etta James
Me & You - Kenny Chesney

But who knows...

I don't know about the first one, but for the father daughter dance I like "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts, "Get Ready, Get Set, Don't Go" by Billy Ray Cyrus, or "I Loved Her First" by Heartland I believe (not sure though)

since we had been talking tattoos and such..I've got 5. I plan on getting another one soon(if any of ya'll watch Doctor Who or Torchwood, it is gonna be the Torchwood logo/hive on my left foot!)

you can see the two stars on my chest in this one:

I've been wanting to get a tatoo for a LONG time, but i'm terrified about the pain. I just don't like the idea of a needle poking me repeatedly... O_O

Maybe someday I'll finally do it. My mom can never find out though, she'd kill me, lol

Hey ladies, how's it going? I haven't checked in in a while, everybody doing good?

well we didn't do dancing at our reception, cause we are not dancers at all..:lmao: but our song down the aisle as husband and wife was "Love Song" by the Cure!!! we love it and it is only appropriate since Robert Smith(lead singer/song writer for the cure) wrote it for his wife for their wedding:love:

I LOVE the 311 version of "Love Song" and wanted to have my first dance to that (because I love the song and the band, my fave!!!) but DBF shot that one down.

The song I REALLY want to my first dance to be to is Bob Marley's "Is This Love". I LOVE Bob Marley but DBF shot that one down too because he thinks if we danced to that song everyone will think we're pot-headed ganja smokers. And that's not exactly what a wedding should be about. Regardless, the mood of the song fits my personality perfectly. I'm bummed.

I don't know about the first one, but for the father daughter dance I like "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts, "Get Ready, Get Set, Don't Go" by Billy Ray Cyrus, or "I Loved Her First" by Heartland I believe (not sure though)

Out of the 5 weddings we attended this summer I think 3 of the father-daughter dances were to "I Loved Her First" FYI.

My Dad passed away but I did get a daddy/daughter dance before. It was "Daddy's Hands". I like that song Stealing Cinderella by Chuck Wicks

For the most part, it's not that bad. I thought I was going to die my first one but I forgot about it by the time I got my second a month later :rotfl: It hurts like a bad sunburn after...which I actually think is worse.

I love that song! Very sweet and how wonderful that you have that memory.

All of this stuff is hard for me because I did it once...I feel wierd doing it again. I mean I want a ceremony and reception but just not sure about all the traditions....like dances. But I know dbf will want them. I'll have to really think about it.

The move is official. I need to be out of the apartment by Nov 30th!! Then the big move back in with my parents...they are so great to do this. I'm almost 30 and my brother is 3 years younger and they have NEVER had both of us out of the house at the same time. Hopefully it will only be till around April, then dbf and I are moving in together (although he wants sooner!)

Someone can touch my feet, oh BUT please DO NOT ASK ME TO TOUCH YOURS!! DBF is always like, my feet hurt, will you rub them...NO WAY JOSE!!

DBF knows better then to even dare ask me that question

Our "song" is "Such Great Heights" by Iron and Wine. I'd like to assume that is what we'd dance to. If you have never heard this song, click here to listen, it's beautiful  It also happens to be the song from an M&M's commercial from last year and it was in the movie Garden State :rotfl:

DBF and I love the movie The Wedding Singer, we quote it all the time ("they were cooones!" :rotfl: ) and the song "I Want To Grow Old With You" is quite befitting of us. Can you have two first dances at a wedding?

As for father/daughter...I have no idea. My dad and I both hate country music and I hate most of the other father/daughter dance type songs. They just really don't fit mine and my dad's relationship at all. I'm thinking something classic, like Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Elvis or the Beatles. Although I do really love Kelly and Ozzy Osbourne's song "Changes" too bad my mom might have a heart attack if I were to ever say that we're playing Ozzy at my wedding :lmao:

I have almost the same ring! Mine is pink though and the band is a bit different, but its a Mickey head. My dad got it for me at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney as a graduation present last year.

Wow, that is quick :scared1: Good luck with the move!

So, I dropped DBF off at the airport this morning at 5:30 and he just texted me that he landed in Chicago  I was pretty nervous because the weather was super crappy this morning, but he got there just fine, even though his flight was super bumpy and a bit rough. Poor boy is so nervous and anxious though :sad1: His first interview is as soon as he gets to the company from the airport and he supposedly has a second interview after that  So, wish him/us luck and cross your fingers for us! I'll keep you guys updated :goodvibes Hopefully they will be like "James, you are amazing! Here is a job!" :rotfl: :lmao: Hey, I can wish right?

I hope the time at your parents goes fast! Wow, moving in with your honey. Sweet.

I am really wanting another tattoo now. Mine is almost 2 months old.

I like 311, but their cover of Love Song is hideous!!! There is no emotion in it whatsoever.

We've heard I Loved her First at a lot of weddings too...I'm really tired of it...lol.
